Yellowstone’s Kevin Costner teams with Hollywood legend for new historical epic on Prime Video

Hollywood and Yellowstone icon Kevin Costner has lined up his next TV project alongside another A-list movie star

Yellowstone star Kevin Costner is returning to TV for his next project, an epic Civil War series coming to Prime Video next year.

The star is producing the eight-part series The Gray House with fellow Hollywood legend Morgan Freeman.

Set to stream in early 2026, the historical drama follows a group of female spies who were integral to winning the war.

Not only does the series boast two silver screen icons working behind the scenes, but it will also feature a stellar cast featuring some very recognisable names and upcoming talent.

Leading the cast is Mary-Louise Parker of The West Wing fame, Harlots’ Daisy Head, Kindred breakout Amethyst Davis and Roots star Ben Vereen.

They’ll be joined by an impressive supporting cast, including Paul Anderson, Ian Duff, Hannah James, Robert Knepper, Christopher McDonald, Colin Morgan, Rob Morrow, Colin O’Donoghue, Sam Trammell, Ewan Miller and Keith David.

In addition to Costner and Freeman, the creative minds behind the series also make it one to look out for.

Leslie Greif, who produced the Emmy-winning miniseries Hatfields & McCoys, which starred Costner and Bill Paxton, wrote the series with Darrell Fetty and John Sayles.

Plus, Oscar-nominated director of The Killing Fields and The Mission Roland Joffé helmed all eight episodes.

A synopsis for The Gray House via Deadline reads: “The drama focuses on the true story of a group of unsung women, a Virginia socialite, her mother, a formerly enslaved sister-in-arms, and the city’s most notorious courtesan.

“They operate deep inside the corridors of Confederate power and transform an underground railroad into an effective underground spy network, risking life and liberty.”

Deadline has also confirmed that fans can expect a killer soundtrack, including an original song performed by country legend Willie Nelson.

Big names such as Shania Twain, Killer Mike and Yolanda Adams will also feature, while Jon Bon Jovi has also co-written one of the tracks.

The Gray House is premiering in early 2026 on Prime Video. Yellowstone is available to stream on Paramount+.
