Co-ed Outdoor Soccer Rules
Specific Rules for Outdoor Soccer LIMITLESS 2013 A) Teams & Players 1. A Maximum of 15 players per squad is permitted 2. Each University can have up to 2 teams, on a special exception bases will there be a 3rd team 3. Teams shall consist of 7 players (including a goalie) but must have a minimum of 5 players to start a game 4. Each team must have no less than 5 players (minimum of 1 female) at game time 5. Any team without the required number of players within 5 minutes of the scheduled time will default the game 6. There must be 1 female on the field at all times, for each team, otherwise the game will be defaulted B) Equipment 1. No jewellery (unless properly taped down), non-elastic headbands, or hard support braces are allowed during game time. Captains will be warned at the beginning of the game to have all their players remove such items. During the game, players found with such items will be asked to leave the game until the item is removed 2. A game ball will be provided for game play only (not for practicing). 3. All players must wear proper equipment and must be in contrasting colour to the opposing team 4. Proper gym attire must be worn to participate (no jeans or pants/ shorts with zippers). Proper athletic footwear for the sport is required (i.e. running shoes or cleats that are NOT metal cleats) 5. Shin guards are mandatory 6. All games will be played on half of an outdoor soccer field. C) Game lengths 1. All round robin games will consist of two 20-minute halves, running time. There will be a 3minute halftime in between halves 2. Playoffs will consist of two 20-minute running time halves with a 5-minute halftime 3. Final games will consist of two running time 25-minute halves with a 5-minute halftime 4. Tie Breaker Procedure: a. If tied after full-time, penalty shoot our will take place b. First do coin toss to see who will shoot first c. Select 5 players from each team to shoot d. If tied after 5 shooters, sudden death shootout will be carried on (teams must cycle through the entire team on the field before an individual can shoot again) 5. Goaltenders must remain constant throughout. At the discretion of the team they may be used as a shooter 6. All the substitutes must remain outside the field and the rest of the players not participating must remain in the centre circle 7. Nets will be used to the referees discretion D) Point System 1. A win gets 3 points in the divisional standings 2. A tie gets 1 point in the divisional standings
3. A loss gets 0 points in the divisional standings 4. Divisional standing will be ranked based on the number of points. In the event of a tie in the standings, the following will be used as tiebreakers (in this order): total wins, goals for, goals against, record between teams, coin toss. 5. In the event of a division with an odd number of teams, one team chosen at random will play 2 games rather than 3. This team will receive a 1-0 win and 3 points in the standings (default win) E) Defaults 1. In the event of a default, the winning team will be awarded 3 points, and a 1-0 win 2. If both teams are late, they will both forfeit the game and no points will be awarded in the standings F) Gameplay 1. Unlimited substitution made at the intersection of the touchline and centre line. A team can substitute only during Kick-off, Goal kick, and when it is there throw-in.
