Earmark Request

Steve Scalise, a member of Congress, wrote a letter to the chairmen of the Appropriations Committee requesting funding from the Department of Justice COPS program for law enforcement equipment for the Washington Parish Sheriff's department. The equipment would include in-vehicle notebook computers and other items to support proactive and reactive law enforcement activities to ensure public and officer safety. Scalise certified the funding request met the requirements of being publicly posted and would not financially benefit himself or his spouse.
