Topic : Unit 9: The Holidays
Focused Skills : Grammar
Content Standards : 5.1 By the end of the 6- year primary schooling, pupils will be able to
use different word classes correctly and appropriately.

Learning Standards : 5.1.1 Able to use nouns correctly and appropriately:

(a) Common nouns
(b) Proper nouns

Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
i. Differentiate between common and proper nouns
ii. Convert common nouns to proper nouns.
Vocabulary : cashier, driver, zoo, father, mall, go
Teaching Aids : Pop-out book and worksheets.
Thinking Skills : Making relation between words and pictures.

1. In 4 to 5 pupils per
group, the pupils will
answer questions about
proper nouns and
common nouns.
2. One of the pupil from
each group will be called
to answer the question, if
the pupil cannot answer
it, the group can offer
assistance but the mark
will be half of 2.
3. If the group cannot
provide any answer then
