Week Game

This document provides instructions for three games to teach children the days of the week using letter tiles. Game 1 has the children arrange all scattered tiles to spell out the days of the week. Game 2 deals out letter tiles face down for the children to match to a printed list of the days. Game 3 skips using the tiles and has the children fill in the missing letters directly on a printed chart. The teacher's notes are intended to guide playing the letter games with children to help them learn the days of the week.

Teachers notes:
Print out the letters, cut out and laminate them. 1 set for 2 children.
Game 1.
Scatter all the tiles with face up. Each child has to make the proper day of the week or all of them. In a time
limit. (I usually use a sandglass).
Game 2. (for younger children)
Print out the lists below one chart for a child.
Put all the tiles face down. The younger starts. They need to find the right letters for their days. If they miss
they lose a turn.
Please note the two sheets are for one set of letters and for a pair of children.
After the game I change the charts and ask children to write missing letters by themselves.
Game 3.
Print the charts only and ask to write missing letters.
