Winter 2017 Student Teaching: Emotional Impairments

Worked towards my endorsement in emotional impairments while student


teaching at D.A. Blodgett St. John’s home through Lighthouse Academy.
o Worked with a very wide range of students including abilities, grade levels,
and ages. This experience included students in 1st grade through 5th grade
with emotional, and cognitive impairments, and general education
students.
o Completed course work and experience in working with paraprofessionals.
o Successfully completed and participated in:
FBAs, B13 Compliance meetings, manifestation meetings, co-wrote and
lead multiple IEPs.

Fall 2016 Teacher Assisting

o Teacher assistant in an elementary resource room working with students in

Friendship Circle is a non-profit organization that provides, assistance,


support, and friendship to individuals with special needs and their families
through recreational, social, educational, and vocational programming.

large range of ages and abilities at Friendship Circle
o Collaborate on developing effective strategies for participants to promote

o Participated in the annual Walk-for Friendship which raised money and


awareness for the Friendship Circle and kids with special needs

o Tutored a focus student in second grade math content for a full semester.
