PS7 Printing Tipsheet

The document discusses how to avoid issues when printing from Photoshop by ensuring color management is not done by both Photoshop and the printer driver. It recommends letting either Photoshop or the printer driver handle color management, not both, and provides tips for color settings in Photoshop and common printer drivers to properly handle color conversion and matching screen to printed output.

Photoshop Printing Tips

Avoiding Common Pitfalls By Chris Murphy

Printing from Photoshop and getting the color you expect is not the most intuitive
thing. Not only can Photoshop do color conversions at print time, but so can the
printer driver itself. To make matters worse, they can both do color conversions
at the same time, and this usually results in disaster. This tip sheet, based-on
Real World Color Management, chapters 11 and 12, will explain how to avoid
“double color management“ and help you better achieve the results you expect.
