Aloha Configuration Center Release Notes

These notes reflect the latest enhancements and features added in the current version
of CFC. This document is updated on each new release. Each numbered item contains a
description of the enhancement or feature, and its RFC number and module in brackets,
in the format of [RFC # | Module].

CFC 1.5
Aloha Configuration Center Version 1.5 is the most recent version of CFC and
includes a number of improvements, defect corrections, and new features since
its last release. This version was released in March, 2010.

Key New Features

1. New layout of utilities menus.
The Utilities menu has been redesigned to have an always-present
submenu for CFC, and then a separate submenu dependent on
which product is currently selected.
2. Clearer designation of base versus compare record in import
report.
The Import report has been changed so that it is much clearer to
the user with comparisons which record is the base record and
which record is the one the base is being compared to.
3. Support for latest versions of POS, Kitchen, and Takeout.
CFC now supports POS 6.7.2 and 6.8, Kitchen 0.8.2.0, and Takeout
1.2.
 4. Horizontal splitter in applets with vertical and horizontal grids.
It is now possible to adjust the height of applets with both vertical
and horizontal grids using a horizontal splitter.
5. A multiple-instance feature has been added to CFC.
CFC will now allow users to install multiple instances of CFC on the
same machine simultaneously. This makes it possible to have a
shell install pointing to a pre-production environment, and
another install pointing to a production environment, for example.

CFC 1.4
Aloha Configuration Center Version 1.4 is the most recent version of CFC and
includes a number of improvements, defect corrections, and new features since
its last release. This version was released in December, 2009.

Key New Features

1. New pizza applets added
Several new applets have been added to better allow users to
manage new POS pizza settings features, including the use of a
topping matrix to manage inventory depletion.
2. POS version 6.7 support
Configuration Center now supports version 6.7 of POS. The
enhancements below contain additional details.
3. Aloha Online support
Configuration Center now has support to configure a variety of
settings specific to the upcoming Aloha Online product
4. New Update HASP Security Key utility
 This new utility replaces the existing Aloha Update method of
updating HASP keys by allowing the user to update HASP key data
for all their sites directly from an Aloha Update file
5. Media file preview
It is now possible to preview certain types of media files while
working with them within Configuration Center to create a better
workflow to image maintenance.
6. Remote Manager Workstation
Config Center now supports an in-store installation on a separate
BOH server for users with multiple BOH servers at their sites
7. Bulk update
The bulk update (or “Save to other records”) feature allows users
to carry out several changes across multiple stores or records. This
ability is available in Store Settings, Items, and Promos.

Copied records are no longer forced to being owned by the user
currently logged in.
4. Ability to create a version by copying an existing version [75369 |

An existing versioned record (one that already has many of the
desired changes, for example), can be copied to a new version of
that same record.
5. Ability to save multiple changes to other Store Settings records

Allows changes to a single Store Settings record to be populated to
other stores’ Store Settings records.
 6. Ability to create a new store by copying configuration from

Instead of having to create a new store from scratch or running an
import, the user can now simply copy an existing store’s settings to
create an entirely new store.
7. An additional confirmation dialog has been added when deleting

Provides an extra warning that the user is about to delete an
entire Event Schedule and not just an individual event within an
event schedule.
8. Store, corporate, and global number values can now be edited on

Users can now change Store IDs within Store Settings to align with
organizational changes.
9. The colors on submenus have been updated so that the text is

Addressed item information difficult to read the information
contained on the submenu buttons. The colors have been changed
now to make it much more discernable.
