LARGE NUMBERS

Tens and units are always separated by a hyphen.

Eg. 32: thirty-two

You must write “and” after hundreds

Eg. 156: one hundred and fifty-six

Use a comma after thousands

Eg. 3,879: three thousand, eight hundred and seventy-nine

When there are no hundreds after thousands use “and”

Eg. 9,071: nine thousand and seventy-one
