Good evening every one. My name is.

I’m here today to talk to you about why Indonesian drama can’t
compete with Korean drama. Before I start, does anyone know about the Korean drama? *yes* Korean
dramas or K-dramas are television dramas in the Korean language, made in South Korea. K-dramas are
popular worldwide, partially due to the spread of Hallyu (or the Korean Wave), and are available through
streaming services that offer multiple language subtitles.

I’ll begin with one of the success keys of K-dramas. The actors and actresses are attractive. But actually,
Indonesian actors and actresses are attractive too, such as Rizky Nazar and Natasha Wilona. The attractive
appearance also supported by their makeup. Take a look at this, can you guess how old she is? She is 27
years old in this picture. Ya, natural makeup can make you look younger and there is one more thing, their
outfits are stylish and beautifully designed because fashion is always high on the priority list of any K-
drama characters.

This leads me to my next point, which is many people love K-dramas because they focus on good story
telling. K-dramas usually run for one season, for 16-24 episodes of 60 minutes each. K-dramas do not
usually repeat the same kind of setting. The popular ones will be romantic comedies/ romance,
melodrama, sageuk or historical drama, and also there are some medical drama type shows.

K-dramas have high quality acting because most of the actors and actresses was trained in acting schools.
The actors and actresses have totality in explore the role they acted. The characters are developed in a
way that allows the viewer to relate and feel for them.

From K-dramas you can learn much about life in Korea. For example, rooftop living in Korea as alternative
because Korea are very populated, we can easily fin convenience stores on every corner, letting the oldest
person begin to eat first, shaking hands softly with both hands when meeting someone senior than you,
bowing is a traditional form of greeting, and for the bonus: how to slurp ramyeun like a pro.

Let’s now turn to another important aspects of K-dramas. The setting are bright, colorful, and opulent.
Indoor setting are luxurious and outdoor shots whether in the city or the countryside focus on the best
views. Besides that, there is Original Sound Track which we call it as OST. The OSTs help viewers to get
absorbed into the story easily. That’s why Korean dramas successfully create emotional connections with
viewers.

To sum up, with amazing storyline K-dramas become perfect for viewers. Therefore, it should be a role
model for local film workers in order to improve the quality of Indonesian drama, so we can good as
Korean drama.
