1. In 2013, Billy Ray Harris was living on the streets in Kansas city. He was
homeless and every day he held out a cup and asked passers-by for
spare change.
2. One day everything changed. A woman called Sarah Darling was
walking past and dropped some money into his cup.
3. What she didint notice,though,was that she had accidentally dropped her
engagement ring into the cup
4. Sarah looked everywhere in her house for her ring but couldnt find it. She
was very sad
5. Later, Billy saw the ring was in his cup and took it to a jewerlley shop.
The told him it was worth $4,00
6. Then, one day, she was walking in the Street where Billy was sitting, and
was amazed when Billy Rays shouted at her and gave the ring back to
her. He explained that he had felt uncomfortbale about selling the ring,
so he had kept it for her
7. Sara was so happy she gave him $60 from her purse. But she thought
Billy deserved more, so she started collecting money for him. She
wanted to raise about $1,000-enough for some new clothes and basic
things
8. When people Heard about about Billys story, more and more people
gave money. After three months, Sarah had collected $190,000
9. He also appeared on TV,where members of his family saw him for the
first time in 16 years and decided to meet him.
10. Six months later, Billy had a house and a car and was no longer living on
the streets
Essay
When I a child I was a very active child, my parents usually took me to the park
so I could play with my friends, we also used to go to my dad´s hometown and I
used to play with the farm animals that my family had over there. My dad took
me to the river because he used to fish, it was one of his hobbies and i tended
up being one of my hobbies also.
My favorite part of being in my dads homewton was when we had breakfast,
lunch and dinner.I used to love my granma´s food,she usually made my favorite
plate everytime we went to visit her. She made a delicious rice and beans with
tortilla, and I still love that plate. Now a days I am used to eat more fast food
and my favorite is the pizza.
As a normal child I also love to watch tv shows and movies, I remember I used
to watch Dragon Ball Z it was my favorite tv show and my favorite movie was
Harry Potter.
As I was growing up, the person that always gave me advices was my dad, I
used to follow every advice he gave me, also my mom but most of the time I
usually follow my dad.
I have many moments that I remember and bring me joy, also I have some that
make me laugh, for example when I was a child I tasted sushi, for me it was the
worst food ever, now I usually eat sushi in special occasions, like when I take
my girlfriend to dinner.
My favorite memories were we used to go to Tela in summer vacations, it was
my favorite place ever. Unfortunately I dont go to Tela with much frequency
because of college issues.
I had good memories that now they just got lost, I had my best friend Juan, I
always used to played with him, we had a lot of adventures and many moments
to remember, now he is out of the country, he usually comes like twice a year
and we see each other, but its not like before.
My life was great, I have no regrets about it, eventhough I had bad moments I
used to overcome them listening to music, playing, sometimes reading a good
story,usually my mom used to read these ones to me to make me feel better.
Now Im 21 years old and I dont use to do that things to overcome that sadness,
now I like to party, like to go to dance with a nice girl, playing soccer with my
college friends, this last one reminds me of how I used to play when I was a kid
and makes me happy. I got to realice that I had a great life and I keep having it,
usually I say : You Only Live Once and I live my life every second of it.
