CAUSE AND EFFECT ESSAY: Effects of using
mobile phone too much
The mobile phone is one of the greatest inventions of the 20th century.
Cellular phone, cell phone, hand phone, or simply a phone are all the various
names designated to a device that can make and receive telephone calls over a
radio link while moving around a wide geographic area. But the journey didn’t
stop there! In addition to telephony, modern mobile phones also support a wide
variety of other services such as text messaging, MMS, email, Internet access,
short-range wireless communications (infrared, Bluetooth), business applications,
gaming, and photography. Mobile phones that offer these and more general
computing capabilities are referred to as smart phones. We cannot imagine how
our life would have been without cell phones!
Mobile phone is our handy package of entertainment. From listening to music to
playing games and watching movie, every source of amusement is present in that
palm size device. But this has caused some serious addiction problems among the
young users and hence a lot of youngsters have lost their concentration level and
are found distracted from their studies as a result the GPA and Grades go down.
It keeps us 24/7 connected with people, whether by chatting, voice calls or
video calls or simple calls. We certainly don’t have to go to a special place or
take out time to carry out conversations. In fact we can communicate and
simultaneously carry out other tasks. Perhaps, due to various benefits of mobile
phones, a lot of people neglect the bad consequences that result due to its
frequent usage. Using mobile phones without moderation not only causes health
hazards like abnormal mutations in brain due to radiations or hearing losses but
it also causes some serious problems among relations and limits one on one that
is face to face communication. And in fact the expense on phone cards have led
to serious economic imbalances.
Cell phones provides a good company in a boring party of strangers but
simultaneously it limits our social circle and does not allow us the adventure of
knowing new people and making new bonds.
A lot of businessman carry out their important dealings or rather meetings on
the phone which of course is a plus point as it saves time as well as money for
travelling but on the other hand due to this people get so engrossed in
conversations that they lose their concentration while driving and hence the ratio
of car accidents has immensely increased over the few years.
Mobile phone had led to the increase usage of social medias where people tend to
keep updated about distant friends’, their where about, change in appearance
etc; but unfortunately this has led to the birth of a lot of cyber crimes that
have led to a lot of moral and social complications and destroyed several homes.
For example, some people click photos of some girls in the public places such as
swimming pool or spa and spread those photos over the internet.
Mobile phone however has become a crucial part of our life and in fact we find
ourselves incomplete without a cell phone in hand, as it’s our mini globe and in
fact it brings all destinations and people close to us by a single touch in a
fraction of a second!!!
