4 General information to the protocols

The process data which shall be changed in the controller are se-
lected by means of Parameter Selection Bitfield.

Process data
transfer direction

Customer PLC
Fig. 6: Parameter Selection Bitfield

The process data whose bits have the Low status in the Parameter
Selection Bitfield are not changed by the receive telegram in the
controller.
So it is possible to transmit a telegram to the controller to
acknowledge an error in Error Confirm Bitfield for example with-
out having to send actual reasonable process data.
The Control Bitfield is available for specification of the operating
and the sensing mode. The Control Bitfield will be considered only
with activated Parameter Selection Bitfield.
The Error Confirm Bitfield for acknowledgment of errors (are fad-
ed in also in the display of the controller) offers the possibility of
both confirmation of a special error (bit mask evaluation) or a
general error confirmation (0xFFFF).

The following determinations have to be taken into account at the
use of this protocol:
1. The movements have different effects depending on the oper-
ating mode. The sensors may be shifted individually in operat-
ing modes Manual and SC. During edge guiding the web is
shifted together with the sensor.
During center line guiding the sensors can:
- be shifted parallel via moving commands to sensor 1 with
sensor positioning device FVG 2MK.
- not be shifted with sensor positioning device FVG 1MK.
2. During the use of a sensor positioning device FVG 2MK the Po-
sition Mode and the Velocity Mode are mutually exclusive for
moving the sensor.
3. During the use of a sensor positioning device FVG 1MK the
fields PrePos Center and Preposition Center active are not rel-
evant. One sensor only can always be moved in Position Mode
or in Velocity Mode.
4. The positions are related to the machine zero (set during start-
up via Offset and Direction).
5. Adjusting two speeds simultaneously for sensor 1 and sensor 2
(in speed mode) resp. adjusting two positions for both sensors
(in positioning mode) is not allowed while using a sensor posi-
tioning device FVG 1MK. Otherwise it comes to a not defined
behaviour.

10 Shutting down and disposal

When shutting down and disposing of the system, the applicable
national laws and guidelines must be observed.
Moreover, the safety concept of the entire system must be ob-
served in which the system is installed. The necessary procedure
must be prepared by the manufacturer of the machine.
To a great extent, the system is made from electric / electronic
components and materials that, depending on the compilation,
are returned for recycling. Also note the legal regulations as well
as local recycling guidelines for this purpose.
Returning the system to BST eltromat International GmbH is gen-
erally possible. For this purpose and all other questions, please
contact BST eltromat customer services, page 38.
