SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION
This Factory Management System helps to manage routine of the BSL.
Description
The main system roofs three subsystems, they are, Customer Information management,
Employee Information Management and Inventory Management. They can handle fully
automated processes. Therefore, if information is entered in one place it will be automatically
updated everywhere. Printing invoices for customers, calculating salary, maintaining sales
history, calculating the remaining amount of stock (Coil), Alert when stock reaches the minimum
order limit and several other functions have been included in this system.

MANDATORY SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
INFORMATION
Installation of Factory Management System (FMS) Software at Client Site
The system is developed using a number of third party software products and tools that run on
various operating systems and server platforms. Reports from the software industry suggest
there are known security issues with some products and systems. It is recommended that, if you
are using FMS software, you review its use with your Information Technology (IT) department
and their overall strategy to ensure that all recommended security updates and patches are
installed as needed in your corporation. The initial installation will be done by the developers
and the configuration and database connections will be done as well free of charge.
If you experience difficulties accessing the application
If you experience difficulties accessing the application after standard installation on Windows
XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 please consult your IT department personnel to have proper
access permissions setup for your use.

GETTING STARTED
This software is tailor made for BSL therefore, this has to be installed by the developing team.
Incorrect installation might cause permanent damage to the existing data or database.
Welcome Screen
To open the Factory Management System (FMS) double click on the software icon located in
desktop. You will see the welcome screen displayed as below at the start. It will show you a
login window. Enter your user name and correct password and select the correct user level from
the drop down menu to enter your respective area.

User Levels
The system has the following User Levels. Sales Representative, Administrator, Supervisor.

Sales Representative
The least powerful user level in this system. Can only insert and search BSL client details. Even
deleting the records are not permitted. Only can handle only Customer Management System.

Supervisor
The only person assigned to handle the Inventory Management System. Total power is given to
insert, update and delete.
Administrator
Most powerful user level in this system. Can enter into any subsystem other than Inventory
Management System. Project Management will be done by Administrator.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Inventory Management System allows the supervisor to handle the inventory of the BSL.
Adding A New Coil
Please Follow the following steps to add a new coil.
1. Enter Coil number in "Coil no" field.
2. Enter Colour in "Colour" field.
3. Enter Metal Type in "Metal Type" field.
4. Select Received date from the date picker.
5. Select coil thickness from the dropdown menu.
6. Enter the weight of the coil in the "Remaining Weight" field.
7. Enter Weight per length in "Weight Per length" field.

Processing A Coil
Please follow the following instructions while a coil is being processed.
1. Choose one coil from stock table.
2. You can view the date the coil has been first processed.
3. You can view the respective project for which that coil is being processed.
4. Enter used coil length in “Used Length” field.
5. You can view the remaining coil length.
6. The system will show the used percentage of the coil.

Empty Fields
I. Please enter the Coil Number
Solution: You have left coil no field blank or you have entered in a wrong format. Please
check the format and enter the coil number.
II. Please enter the Weight Per Length
Solution: You have left weight per length field blank or you have entered in a wrong
format. Please check the format and enter the weight per length.
III. Please enter the Metal Type
Solution: You have left metal type field blank or you have entered in a wrong format.
Please check the format and enter the metal type.
IV. Please enter the Received Date
Solution: You have left received date field blank or you have entered in a wrong format.
Please use the date picker to enter the received date.
V. Please enter the Remaining Weight
Solution: You have left Remaining Weight field blank or you have entered in a wrong
format. Please check the format and enter the Remaining Weight.
VI. Please enter the Colour
Solution: You have left colour field blank or you have entered in a wrong format. Please
check the format and enter the colour.
VII. Please enter the Project Id
Solution: You have left Project ID field blank or you have entered in a wrong format.
Please check the format and enter the Project ID.
VIII. Please enter the Used Length
Solution: You have left Used Length field blank or you have entered in a wrong format.
Please check the format and enter the Used Length.

IX. Please enter the End Date
Solution: You have left end date field blank or you have entered in a wrong format.

Duplicate Values
I. A Coil already exists under the provided Client ID
Solution: Duplicate coil number for inventory. There can’t be two coils with the same
number. Please check back and enter.
II. A Coil already selected to process
Solution: Already selected coil cannot be re selected to process. Choose a different coil to
process.
Other Errors
I. Enter valid length
This happens when used length is bigger than remaining length. Please enter the correct
used length.

CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Customer Management System allows to handle the customer deals of BSL. Only sales
representative
Add Client
1. Enter Client ID
2. Enter Client Name
3. Choose Rep Code
4. Enter Credit Limit
5. Fill Other fields as necessary (Can be left blank)
6. Click Add.

1. Enter Client ID / Select record from table and move to form.
2. Update fields as necessary.
3. Client ID Client name fields are not allowed for updating.
4. Click update.

1. Enter Client / Select record from table and move to form.
2. Click Delete.
Display Client
1. Enter Client ID / Name/ Select Record and move to form.
2. Click Display.

1. Enter Client ID / Name/ Select Record and move to form

Employee Management System helps to manage the information about the employees of BSL.

CREATING USER ACCOUNTS
1. Enter Username
2. Enter Password
3. Confirm Password
4. Enter Employee Id
5. Click Add.
All fields cannot be left blank.
Same ID and username cannot exist for two users.
All fields are validated.
