MICROCONTROLLER BASED AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION SYSTEM
ABSTRACT:
The main aim of project is to monitor the status of the plants in a field and
to save the water for irrigation. The purpose of this project is to check the status of
plant growth and to save water in order to avoid unnecessary wastage of water in
the process of irrigation, whenever it is necessary to pump the water from a motor
for irrigation.
In this project we have field section. In field section we are using soil moisture
sensors placed at the plants to know how much water content is present in the field
and to control the motor.
In this project we are using soil moisture sensors placed at the plants to
know how much water content is present in the field; these values are monitored
through the microcontroller. By using soil sensor we know whether soil is dry or
wet and when it is dry and any valve is open then only water should pump from
the motor i.e., motor should on otherwise motor should off.
The sensor values are compared with the prescribed values if they are not in
proper way i.e., if soil sensor is showing dry then check for values whether they
are on/off and then water will flow.
