CHAPTER 1
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction:
Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services including
servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence over the
internet or cloud to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of
scale. Cloud computing is the context IT is simply a way to deliver services over the
internet faster and cheaper than using in house IT resources which include data
management using the servers, power, switches, application, and labor to manage it
all.
According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST), there are five essential characteristics of cloud computing.
On demand self service
Broad network access
Resource pooling
Rapid elasticity or expansion
Measured service
NIST also list the three “service model” (software, platform and
infrastructure) and four “deployment models” (private community, public and
hybrid) that together categorize ways to deliver cloud services.
Cloud computing and data management help to reduce costs, scaling,
productivity, performance, and reliability.
This study tends to test in whether the cloud computing and data
management is effective for Accounting Information System.

Statement of the Problem:
The main problem of this research is to determine if the cloud computing and
data management is safe in data securities, in real time monitoring requirement,
reliability on new technology, cost barrier, lack of knowledge and expertise, hacking,
recovery of lost data, cloud management and selecting the perfect cloud set-up.
Cloud storage infrastructure are facing several research challenges which need
to be addressed. Few researchers have proposed techniques wherein, one of the
solutions to secure storage as a service clouds, is to move from single cloud provider
to multiple cloud provider.

Significance of the Study:
The result of the study will be great benefit of the following:
Students: In this study the student will identify the importance of the use of cloud
computing and data management for Accounting Information System.
Teacher: The teacher can also gain significance in this study. For their, they would
assess the needs of the students and compare and contrast the uses of cloud
computing and data management in the Accounting Information System.
Future Researcher: The future researcher also can gain significance in this study. It
may serve as guidance to gather information and it may serve them as building
blocks to have bigger study.
The Researcher: The researcher can also gain significance in this study. They would
improve their, skill strategy, and knowledge in engaging research.
