Time Aggregation Profiles

You can use this app to configure different planning granularities for a planning horizon.

You may want to use a less granular planning for periods further in the future, because planning data gets more uncertain in

greater timely distance. You can improve system performance by coarsening granularity for later periods of the planning

horizon.

Time aggregation profiles are considered by the time-series-based supply planning optimizer.

In this app, you can create different aggregation levels - such as day, week, month, and so on – and define as of when each

level applies. For example, you can define that your planning starts with a daily granularity, but switches to a weekly

granularity as of week 2 of your planning horizon.

Note

For each time aggregation profile a time profile has to be selected in the Time Aggregation Profiles app.

For the different time granularities to be respected within an optimization run, the time aggregation profile needs to be

assigned to the optimizer profile in the S&OP Operator Profiles app.

Keep in mind that only those time aggregation profiles are selectable within the S&OP Operator Profiles app that use the

same time profile as the planning area of the according optimizer profile.

This time aggregation profile states that starting today (offset for daily planning 0 days) until the end of the 3rd week (offset

for weekly planning: 4 weeks) plan in daily periods, thereafter plan in weekly periods until the end of second month (offset

for monthly planning: 3 months), thereafter plan in monthly periods until the end of the horizon.

Updating and Deleting Profiles

If you want to update an existing active profile, edit it and then save it. This creates an inactive version, which you can work

on until you’re happy with it and, when it’s ready, you can activate it. It then overwrites the currently active version.

Essentially this allows you to change active profiles in a safe manner.

To delete an active profile, you must first mark it for deletion and then delete it. If you subsequently change your mind, you

can restore a profile marked for deletion, and it automatically becomes active again. However, once a profile is deleted, you

can't restore it.

You can delete inactive profiles straightaway.
