Fall of Constantinople (1453)


I decided to choose this event due to I already knew some information about it. I
learned a little bit about the Fall of Constantinople by a video game called
"Assassin's Creed: Revelations" which is set in renaissance’s time, and this edition
of the saga is specifically situated in Constantinople.
In general, I am captivated in this event because it seems very interesting. As far
as I know, this historical fact meant the great weakening of Christianity and
empowerment of the Muslim religion, the Byzantine Empire was diluted and in this
way the great Roman Empire also ended. The Fall of Constantinople also marked
the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Modern Age; it was a time
marked by the renewal of thought that put reason, science and mathematics first in
order to reach new knowledge. This led to important cultural, social, political and
scientific changes.
