Kickstart Program
For 9 to 12 year olds use
‘Discovery Phase’
‘Skill Acquisition’ Phase

Each week focuses on a Core Skill; Striking, First Touch, Running with the ball and 1 v 1,

Sessions normally go for an hour. Always start with a warm up game. This can be without the ball if need be, but generally with a ball.

Chose some activities that focus on the core skill. Can do a short drill here if required.

Leave about 20 minutes at the end of each session for small games. Start with the numbers activity to reinforce the 1 v 1 and make sure all the
kids are having a go. Then lead into the game. If there are 12 children or more, split into 2 games of 3 v 3.
