Vykon OPC Supervisor®
Overview
Vykon®, powered by the revolutionary Niagara Framework®, is a suite of Java-based products
designed to integrate a variety of devices and protocols into a common distributed automation
system. The Vykon OPC Supervisor™ is a comprehensive web-based HMI solution that
enables users to monitor, control, and implement site-wide supervisory functions for data
points connected via OPC server devices. OPC Supervisor supports third-party OPC servers
compatible with the Data Access 1.0 and 2.0 specifications.
Vykon OPC Supervisor provides full Niagara Framework functionality: dynamic graphics,
archival of historical data, alarm management, scheduling, web browser access, real-time
control, audit trail, and secure access.

Full web-enabled user interface support for OPC data
points–serves dynamic, animated graphic displays
directly to a standard web browser. No “thick client”
software required.
Provides monitoring, alarming, and supervisory control
functions for OPC data points.
Fully integrated with Niagara Framework distributed
architecture systems–dynamic graphics, archival of
historical data, alarm management, scheduling, web
browser access, real-time control, audit trail, and
secure access.
Supports up to 4000 OPC data points per Vykon OPC
Supervisor instance.
Platform Requirements
OPC servers must be Data Access 1.0 or 2.0 compliant.
Supported by Niagara Framework Version 2.3 or higher.
Minimum platform for the Vykon OPC Supervisor is a Pentium 4 @
1.5 GHz, with 1 GB of RAM, and 80 GB hard drive, Microsoft
Vykon OPC Supervisor® Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, or Windows XP Professional.
The Vykon Master Web Supervisor also supports the
Data Sheet Vykon OPC Supervisor and will enable multiple Vykon
Web Supervisors to connect to multiple OPC servers for
maximum configuration flexibility.
