Complete Lighting Control
Our approach to lighting control is easy. As part of the standard system installation, your existing
lighting panel is removed and replaced with a 42 circuit Powerlink (AS) Automatic Switching Lighting
Circuit Breaker Panel.
It does not get any easier.
No lighting contactors. No lighting relays. No time clocks to reset. No photo cells.
Each lighting circuit has a simple override button on the circuit breaker.
Lighting circuits respond to QE’s EMS control system which uses a digital light meter.
HVAC Control
With most thermostats, HVAC'S run all night, even when the store is unoccupied.
Most thermostats run the HVAC blowers continuously, even when they are programmed for night
setback. This creates many hours of needless HVAC blower run time.
For example: If a lobby HVAC is running between 11:00pm and 6:00am (when the blower could be
"OFF") that is over twenty five hundred annual hours of energy used (per HVAC), gas and electricity
paid for, and equipment wear and tear.
The QE EMS will only run HVAC blowers during store operating hours. HVAC blowers will only run at
night when set back temperatures have been reached.
Thermostats allow for wide temperature swings. The HVAC unit will heat or cool until the space it is
servicing reaches the prescribed set-point. If the HVAC unit itself is hot or cold, temperatures will
continue to rise or fall until the HVAC unit itself normalizes. A thermostat is unable to take into
account the internal temperatures of the HVAC unit or outside air temperatures.
The QE EMS comes equipped to perform pre-calculated start and stop. This means the system will use
historical unit performance (logged within the system panels, real-time for one year), supply air
temperatures, and outside air temperatures to run each HVAC more efficiently. This results in shorter
heating and cooling run times resulting in better overall comfort. The system also comes equipped
with damper control capability. When used, this function allows for many annual hours of free cooling.
Walk in Freezer & Cooler
QE’s EMS controls your walk-in freezer & cooler. Typical freezer/cooler thermostats allow for wide
temperature swings. QE’s EMS improves the performance of your freezer/cooler. The system uses
historical compressor performance data to keep temperatures at a set-point.
