Niño Biaan Elementary School in the Philippines held various activities to celebrate Nutrition Month in July 2015 with the theme "TIMBANG IWASTO, SA TAMANG TIMBANG AT EHERSISYO" ("Maintaining a Healthy Weight through Proper Diet and Exercise"). A culminating program was held on July 30th where winners were awarded and students performed while dressed as fruits and vegetables. 2015 NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION


Narrative Report

In connection with the 2015 Nutrition Month Celebration, the Sto. Niño Biaan
Elementary school conducted different activities to show to our pupils the right attitude
towards good health and eating habits. This year’s theme of celebration is “TIMBANG
IWASTO, SA TAMANG TIMBANG AT EHERSISYO”.

On July 23, 2015, pupils from the primary and intermediate level as guided by
their advisers competed in different competitions. These were Poster Making Contest,
Slogan Making Contest and Search for Model Child (A- 1). For the competitions to be
fair, these were categorized into primary and intermediate, wherein Kindergarten to
grade 3 competed for the primary category and grade 4 to grade 6 competed for the
intermediate category. The first plan was to conduct all the competitions simultaneously
in the principals’ office, but because the venue was not able to accommodate all the
participants at the same time, Mr. Benjie M. Manila, the program Chairperson decided
to give each competition a time schedule. Poster Making Contest was conducted at
9:00 AM to 11:00 am , while in the afternoon at 1:00 PM to 3: 00 PM the Slogan Making
Contest was conducted. Participants of the Search for Model Child (A1 Child) were
judged and checked up by our school nurse, Ms. Desirie Festijo simultaneously with the
poster and slogan making competitions.

On July 30, 2015 at exactly 2 o’clock in the afternoon, the Culminating Program
was conducted. Parents of our pupils were invited to witness the presentations of their
children and to join the parade right after the program. The program started with a
doxology sung by Mary Joyce Neo, a Grade V pupil and a member of SNBES Chorale.
It is followed by an introductory and welcome speech given by Mr. Stimson Torres. As
one of the EPP teachers, Mrs. Imelda Mambaje was the speaker of the event, she
shared some tips and ideas to pupils and parents on how to become healthy and what
are the right foods to eat.

After the message of Mrs. Mambaje, it was immediately proceeded by the


different presentations given by each class starting from Kindergarten to Grade 6. In
between the presentations is the awarding of certificate of award and participation for
the winners and the participants of Poster and Slogan Making Contest and the Search
for Model Child (A1 child). The program ended with a parade, the pupils dressed with
their fruits and vegetable costumes together with their advisers marched around Brgy.
Biaan.
The celebration was successfully culminated and enthusiastically enjoined.
Thanks to the untiring and valuable support of all pupils, teachers and parents of Sto.
Niño Biaan Elementary School.
