2. Heroes are those who have a concept of nation and thereafter aspire and
struggle for the nation’s freedom. In reality, however, a revolution has no end.
Revolutions are only the beginning. One cannot aspire to be free only to sink
back into bondage.

EXPLANATIONS:
1. A national hero has qualities that make him stand out, such as commitment, self-
sacrifice, and dedication to national ideals. A hero generally demonstrates
leadership qualities and ethical behavior, showing love for his country. The
national hero is one who has enriched the lives of others through his
contributions to society, and he may be recognized among his peers or
professional organizations. Like the legacy of Rizal, which is advancing the
importance of education, knowledge, and progress are very much alive today. He
showed how much he values Filipinos and education and that is some of the
contributions of Rizal and is an example of what a real hero is.
2. A national hero fights for freedom as an expression of love to his country. One
must fight for reforms in his own ways instead of revolution. He should have a
great contribution to the system or life of freedom and order for the nation, like
what Rizal did for the Philippines. He used his intelligence, talents, and skills to
fight for his country's reforms and freedom. He fought in a more peaceful way
rather than an aggressive way.
3. Freedom without order will only lead to anarchy. Therefore, heroes are those
who make the nation’s constitution and laws. To the latter, constitutions are only
the beginning, for it is the people living under the constitution that truly constitute
a nation, like the Reproductive Health Bill by Jose Rizal. This Bill has
continuously been implemented for Filipinos' welfare and a constitution that will
remind Jose Rizal.
4. A national hero thinks of the future, especially to the future generations; his
concern for the future generations must be seen in his decisions and ideals.
Moreover, a hero must be a good example to the future generation as the
Filipino’s expectations of public figures are different now. In general, a national
hero cares about other people, especially to future generations and youths, as
they represent society as a whole. Like Jose Rizal, he is still not forgotten up to
this present time, and He is still a “good example” to our generation because of
his remarkable legacy.
