Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of how Anglo-American literature and other
text types serve as means of valuing other people; also how to use processing
information strategies, different forms of adverbs and conditionals for him/her to play
an active part in a Chamber Theatre presentation.
Performance Standard The learner proficiently plays an active part in a Chamber Theatre presentation through
employing effective verbal and non- verbal strategies based on the following criteria:
Focus, Voice, Delivery, Facial Expressions, Style and Body Movements or Gestures.
Learning Competencies Shift from one listening strategy to another based on topic, purpose, EN9LC-IIa-11
and level of difficulty of the argumentative or persuasive text
Listen to get important information from argumentative/ EN9LC-IIb-11.1
persuasive texts.

A. Introductory Activity The teacher asks the students:
What listening strategies do you know of?
Which of these strategies do you master the most? the least?
B. Activity/Strategy The teacher conducts a listening test on different listening materials.
C. Analysis The teacher informs the students that the use of listening strategies may vary according to
topic
purpose
level of difficulty
D. Abstraction The teacher emphasizes the following points to the students:
What learning strategy did you use to
get specific details of a story?
summarize a talk?
locate directions?
interpret maps and graphs?
E. Application The teacher asks the students to listen to another listening material and do the following
task:
Write as many key words as you can while listening to the audio.
After which, summarize the audio listened to by making use of your notes.
