Assignment 02:

Refer to the excel file “Assignment 02”. In column 3-4 liquidity related portfolio returns are given
and in column 5, long/short (P5-P1) portfolio returns are given. All returns are reported in local
currency (PKR). Exchange rate data is provided in column 6.

Task:

Assume that a foreign investor from the US wants to invest in Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and
picked liquidity related portfolios for investment (P1,P5,P5-P1). Now the foreign investor is
interested to know how much average dollar denominated returns he can expect by investing
into these portfolios. Your task is to convert these portfolio returns into UD dollars and then
calculate the average returns for each portfolio (in dollars). (Marks: 05)
