ProFX Mac Basic Device Setup

This guide describes how to do a basic setup for connecting your ProFX mixer to your Mac computer. Note if
you are using a DAW application that does not allow you to have different audio devices for both the input
and output you will want to reference the Mac Aggregate Setup document.

Step One: Connect your ProFX Series mixer to your Mac via USB and power it on.

Step Two - Audio MIDI Setup
1. First we will need to open Audio MIDI Setup. Go to your spotlight search box and type in Audio MIDI Set-
up.

2. Once in Audio MIDI Setup you will see the ProFX series mixer show up as a USB Audio CODEC. Notice that
you have two separate USB Audio CODEC’s showing in the audio device list in Audio MIDI Setup. One USB
Audio CODEC is for 2 channels of input from the ProFX mixer. The other USB Audio CODEC is for 2 channels
of output to the ProFX mixer.

3. In Audio MIDI Setup select the USB Audio CODEC device for the output and select gear symbol and choose
“Use this device for sound output”.

4. In Audio MIDI Setup select the USB Audio CODEC device for the input and select gear symbol and choose
“Use this device for sound input”.

Step 3 - DAW Setup.
**If you are using an DAW Application that only allows one hardware device such as Pro Tool, Cubase, Live, and Digital Performer please reference the Mac Aggregate Setup Document.**

1. Open your DAW Application. In this example we are using Logic Pro X. In Logic Pro X go to Logic Pro
X>Preferences>Audio.

2. Next set both the input and output device to the “USB Audio CODEC” device.

3. Then when you create a new track in Logic Pro X you will just want to make sure that both the input and
output are set to the USB Audio CODEC device.

4. You are now ready to have some fun recording with your ProFX Mixer.
