1. Introduction
This android application for smart phone/ tablet is to make it easier for customers to
perform certain operations which, though could be also achieved by Cashflow STS, will
make the functionalities and features more portable and mobile.
2. Installation
PPM Bluetooth function needs to be turned on through the PPM menu options under
Settings.
Prerequisites for installation:
o Minimum Android OS version for mobile phones:4.0.x
o Minimum Android OS version for tablets:3.1.x
To install the PPM Advance application in the smart phone and/or tablets, store the .apk
file in the device storage. Click on the file to start the installation.
After complete installation, the Open option will start the application.
Hardware supported:
PPM Advance Firmware version 1.01
Bill Acceptors – both Cashflow SC(SC) and SC Advance(SCA)
3. Launching the Application
User can launch the PPM Advance application by pressing on the application
icon.
A welcome screen will appear. Press the START button to enter the application.

To get the full usage of the features available in the application, the PPM Advance
application should establish connection with a PPM device at the initial stage.
While running the application for the first time, the user will need to provide a valid license key to
avail the full features of the application.

The HELP button will show the user information regarding the License Key input field.

User can paste the license key from any text editor. After copying the key to the
clipboard, the user will need to long press on the license key input field to view the
PASTE option.

The application will exit on pressing the CANCEL button if all the license key fields are
empty (accessible only from the Change License Key option from the Settings).

4. Device Pairing
If no PPM Advance is connected to the application, the app will take the user to the device pairing
option and show a list of all the available MEI Bluetooth devices.
Clicking on any of the MEI devices available, a pairing code should appear on both the PPM
device and the android application.

After successful pairing, the user will be taken to the Home Page of the application.
NOTE: It is recommended to pair the device using the android app’s device pairing screen before
starting the app, if possible.

6. File Browsing
User will get to view the list of files that are stored in the handheld device of the application and
also the files available in the PPM devices.

While in the Local Files section, long pressing on each file name will allow the user to either View
File Info or Transfer the local file to PPM device.

7. BA Configuration
Configuration page provides the GUI for updating device configuration, application configuration
and updating firmware.

View Details will show the following
information:
Device Serial Number
Variant Part Number
Application Part Number

User can edit the EASITRAX Asset number from the EDIT CONFIGURATION page.

8. BA Diagnostics
This option allows the user to calculate the CRC, CRC 32 and run the Self Test on the connected
Bill Acceptor.

The Self Test Mode replicates the Diagnostics option in the Cashflow STS application.
A Bill Acceptor has to be connected with the PPM device to execute the commands.
On pressing the Self Test Mode button, the application will automatically complete the
Self Test 1, and then provide some manual test feedback options for the user.

After the completion of the Self Test, the user will be shown a full report of the test
execution with icons to indicate test status of each command:
Test Passed
Test Failed
Not Tested
For each failure in Self Test 1, the user will have the option to view the exact reasons for
failure.

9. BA Audit
Pressing the BA Audit button, if the PPM Device is connected to any BA, the app will ask the user
whether he/she wants to execute the Audit command to the connected Bill Acceptor.

After Audit is completed, the user will be shown a list of all the audit files present in the
PPM device. The list will also be shown if the user presses NO and doesn’t want to
audit.

10. Settings
The Settings menu is available from the TOP RIGHT of the application in the TABLET
and for the mobile it’s in the phone’s menu button.

The user will get following information and options:
Connected PPM Device information
Connected Bill Acceptor information
Connect different PPM: this will allow the user to disconnect with the currently
connected PPM, and take them to the device pairing section to connect with a
different PPM device.
Un-register: this will allow the user to un-register the currently connected PPM
device.
Change License Key: this will allow the user to provide a different license key for
the application.
