Officials Referee Hand Signals

Learning Outcomes

7.1 Understand the use of hand signals in volleyball game.


7.2 Identify the different hand signals used in a volleyball game.

INTRODUCTION
This module contains information about Volleyball game. It covers the knowledge
required to learn about Official Referee Hand Signals. Completion of this module will
help you in preparing for the succeeding modules.

This module consists of one (2) learning outcomes. The learning outcome
contains learning activities with instructional sheets. Read the instructional sheet then
proceed to the activities. Your performance in each activity will ascertain that you have
acquired the knowledge necessary for the learning outcomes provided.

Upon completion of this module, report to your teacher for your assessment
regarding the knowledge and skills requirement for this module.

CONTENT
Officials Referee Hand Signals

Move the hand to indicate the direction of service.

Extend the arm to the side of the team that will serve.

Raise the forearms front and back, and twist them around the body.

Place the palm of one hand over the fingers of the other, held vertically (forming a “T”), and then indicate the
requesting team.

Circular motion of the forearms around each other

Misconduct Show a yellow card for a warning; red card for a penalty.

Show both cards jointly for expulsion.

Cross the forearms in front of the chest, hands open.
