• Search for at least three (3) influential feminist (local or international).

Describe what make them influential.

To what way of feminism does each belong?

• Search for a Feminist in each wave/movement.

• Look for a story about views and the role of women in the society.

• Underline and write down different views and roles in the story in a column form.

• Give and state your own opinion idea/concept on how those views affect/make us think about
women.

• Give at least five (5) descriptions or on how present women are regarded in the present
generation.

ACTIVITY:

Reflect on the myths of Eve and Pandora. Are there equivalent myths in your own locally? Recall
this myths about women and how would that affect your relationship with them?

 Does it present a positive or negative view about women?


 If you were a female child growing up with such myths, what would have been your
sense of worth?
 If you were a boy, what would you think of women and how would that affect your
relationship with them?
GUIDE QUESTIONS:

1. Why were women highly regarded in ancient times?

2. What are the theories tracing the possible causes of women subjugation and oppression
in history? Explain.

3. Massive food production and industrialization reinforced the socialized role of women as
home keepers. What are the positive and negative consequences of this developments on
women perception in the society?

4. What is gender existentialism? How does essentialist reasoning contribute to the


oppression of women?

5. What can you do to reshape the prevalent thinking that women are the lesser sex?

1. What is Feminism?

2. State three “waves” of Western feminism and identify the distinct feature of each wave.

3. What are the political or philosophical factors that shaped each of the waves of
feminism?

4. What is intersectionality and how it is relevant to the Philippine feminist movement?

5. What is postmodern feminism?

Answer the following questions.

1. How did the notions of class and hierarchy emerge in the Philippines?

2. The Spanish version of Christianity introduced misogynistic attitudes against women.


Why this is so?

3. What distinguishes the focus of the feminist movement in the Philippines during the
colonial period, the American Era, and in the recent history?

4. How did Filipino women respond to oppression and inequality in various stages of
women's struggle throughout Philippine history?

5. What makes present-day Philippine feminism distinct from Western feminism?

 Answer seven questions after the lesson.
 Answer will be submitted in hard copy each student.
 Search on the Policies/Rights/Laws that protect the Rights in Women in
Education Policy/Laws/Rights.
