counselor in carrying out guidance and counseling services in schools?
Answer: studying abnormal psychology for a c a lon counselor is very important
because having knowledge and understanding of the ins and outs of mental disorders
is expected to be beneficial for efforts to prevent and treat mental disorders that may
occur in students .
2. If observed in school, various student behaviors are found, including: leaving the
classroom or school without permission during learning hours, asking to leave the
classroom when learning is taking place with the teacher, of course, but also for all
teachers teaching in class, disturbing friends by showing animals small like worms,
caterpillars and so on, and afraid of blood or other animals such as worms, caterpillars
and so on. Tell us about: (1) is the aforementioned behavior a study in abnormal
psychology? If so, try to explain the characteristics of normal and abnormal behavior
using examples of these behaviors, (2) understand abnormal psychology and its unit
of analysis.
Answer:
a. The behavior mentioned above is abnormal and normal behavior in psychology
because if it is observed many of these behaviors are found in every school.
Normal behavior is for example students who leave the classroom during
learning hours due to several factors, namely the student is bored during
learning and often leaves class or skips class during learning. The second factor
is that students do not like the teacher who teaches the lesson during the
learning process. Likewise with students who like to disturb friends at school
such as scaring other friends with worms, caterpillars and so on, it is abnormal
behavior because these students see their friends being scared and for students
who experience fear of blood, caterpillars and so on are also abnormal behavior
For example, a child who experiences trauma and excessive fear of an object
because of his past, this may not be eliminated in the child's mind and that
includes abnormal behavior.
b. The alaisis unit is that the child has emotional and behavioral disorders
regarding his psychological needs which can be caused by several factors,
namely family factors where the lack of attention from parents and cannot be
given special treatment by the caregiver, environmental factors cannot socialize
well with friends and are often excluded from it. can trigger someone to have
abnormal behavior

perspective on abnormal behavior by using the examples of problems mentioned
above as examples. (b) put forward propositions and hypotheses put forward by
contemporary perspectives on abnormal behavior using the examples of behavior
mentioned above.

following types of abnormal behavior along with examples: (1) Maladjusted (mild),

addiction and abuse and (5) Psychology s

addiction causes a strong desire to always take drugs . For example, in school, for
example, students who are addicted to smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages
and smoking marijuana
e. Psychosis is Psychosis is a psychiatric condition that can be characterized by a
disturbance in the relationship with reality. Psychosis is a serious symptom that
arises from serious mental disorders and includes hallucinations or delusions. An
example is a student who considers himself a thug and a ruler but in reality he
does not and often hears voices even though there are no voices.
5. Abnormal behavior that occurs in school requires special treatment. Check: (1) the
purpose of subscribing to mental disorders, (2) techniques for understanding mental
disorders along with any examples you are aware of
Answer:
a. The purpose of dealing with mental disorders is to make it easier to provide
special treatment given by certain parties to students who experience mental
disorders so that they can participate in the learning process.
b. To determine the type of mental disorder a student has, the psychiatrist will
conduct a psychiatric medical examination by interviewing the student or his
family. Questions to ask include: Symptoms experienced, including since when
the symptoms appeared and their impact on daily activities. History of mental
illness in students and their families. Events experienced by clients in the past that
trigger trauma. Medicines and supplements that have been or are being
consumed. In order to rule out the possibility of other diseases, the doctor will
perform a physical examination and supporting examinations. One of the
supporting tests performed is a blood test. Through a blood test, the doctor can
find out whether the patient's symptoms are caused by thyroid disorders ,
alcoholism, or drug abuse.
