Syntel NEOS has been designed in a way that it is programmable via SLT, Key Phone as well as
Hyper Terminal. The codes for programming via SLT & KTS are the same. The only additional
advantage of programming via KTS is that one gets to view the codes on LCD as they are fed into
the system and enables the system to recognize & rectify errors occurring while keying the
codes.
The programming through telephone has certain mandatory fields which will be repeated for all
codes. These are:

With Old veriosns there was a space for defining only 15 such CoS prefixes out of which 11-12
are default and can not be replaced. They can only be modified. Hence once all 15 entries are
fulfilled, system won't accept further entries.
For this purpose it's advised to reset all the entries and program only first digits such as 7,8,9 & 1
with required Min & Max digits.

e. Tie Leading Digit / Tie Route Table Signaling port added since Ver. 1.88
Function : This is main part for IP Networking programming. Here user can program leading
digits and destination IP of other PBX. User can program 16 different routes as a leading digit,
User can program any series of other PBX. For example, if other PBX is having extension numbers
from 200 to 299, User will program leading digit as 2.
User can program maximum 4 Destination IP address for each route entry. Purpose of providing
4 IP addresses is that if first programmed IP Address is not reachable, PBX should dial code using
2nd Destination IP Address and so on. Out of this 4 IP address, user will program 1st Destination IP
address in this command.

previous command.i.e. User must enter route entry number for which this command needs to be
set. Using this command PBX will determine following things:
a. If dialed number is less than minimum digits required to route call, PBX will not route the
call.
b. If dialed number is equal to maximum digits required to route call, PBX will immediately
route the call. PBX will not wait for inter digit timeout expiry.
c. If dialed number is greater than minimum digits required but less than maximum digits
required dialing the call, PBX will wait for inter digit timeout expiry and after that PBX will
route the call.

a. Create Backup
Function: This code is used to create a backup of the entire System Programming on the flash
card except call record details and user defined voice messages & music. This flash card can
then be used in the future to directly reboot the system – in event of data corruption – thus saving
a lot of time and energy for the system programmer.
Code: #69 + PW + 026 + 0 + *
Previously it was possible to create two different copies of Program Backup on PGBK child
card with Prog. 026 and 181. With the new version (ARM Split 0.7), only one copy of backup
would be possible to create. Program 181 and 182 are no more available. The backup can be
NOTE created with Prog. 026 and can be recovered using prog. 027. However it is not mandatory to
recover backup using Prog. 027. The backup can be recovered using DIP switch settings as
described in the programming manual. For recovering backup change SW1-1 and SW1-2
position to OFF. Switch ON the system or reset the system. The backup created using prog.

k. Room to Room calling – Groupwise
This program facilitates the guests occupying multiple rooms to communicate on their own
without operator's intervention. This program can form groups of such rooms wherein Room to
room dialing would be possible. Paralally, these rooms can avail Hotel features such as single
digit access codes, which otherwise was not possible in previous versions.
The room would get deleted automatically from the existing group once it is check out. However
at any given movement of time the room can be attached with other group directly using any
extension from the new group as Header Ext. with program code 308.
By default there would be no group programmed. One Extension can be a part of a single group
only. Dialing within group can be availed by dialing # followed by the room No. ( Ext. No.)
Program for Creation of groups for calling within group
Tel. Code #69+ PW + 308 + <Ext.No.> + * + <Ext.no> + * + ------ + *
set roomgrpext <extno :max15>
Guest, during his/her stay in the hotel may use the chargeable services provided by the hotel such
as Food, Laundry or any other miscellaneous services. Charges of all these services along with
Room Tariff, Tax and Telephone Bill can be included in a Bill and can be printed as a
Cumulative/consolidated Bill that can be presented to the customer. These various charges
except Tel Bill can be entered using this program.
If there happens to be some changes to be made after the bill gets printed, system allows the
operator to re-enter all the entries and checkout the guest again. The information about the call
details would be preserved for the said room till the room does not get check-in. Also during that
period if another room gets check-out, the data would be lost.
This facilitates room to room calling amongst all rooms but still enjoying the Hotel Features
including single digit access codes which otherwise was not possible for Service Ext. in
previous versions. However for room calling, # needs to be prefixed before room ext. is
dialed. This feature can be enabled/disabled using following program
TEL : #69 + PW + 311 + Digit 1/0> + *
set roomcall <Digit 0/1> ( Digit: 0-Disable, 1-Enable)
This program facilitates the user to program Name of the Hotel that should get printed in final
bill to be presented to the customer. The Hotel name can be of max. 40 characters length
comprising of 4 words, each not exceeding 16 characters.
