My Reflection Paper

Individual ideas, attitudes, and behaviors can all be influenced by the media. As a result, policy initiatives
involving mass media communication have addressed societal norms that promote and encourage
gender violence. According to previous studies, media has two types of effects: the individual or direct
effect (private) and the societal or indirect effect (public). Individuals may be persuaded to accept new
standards if they are informed about them through the media. The information establishes common
understanding of a norm and improves social coordination in the social impact, as individuals are more
willing to accept information if they feel others have accepted it as well.
What I Have Learned

1. Given the available media that we have now, what are its roles and functions to our society?

I believe that children of various ages and stages communicate in a variety of ways. ... Younger children,
for example, utilize play to sort out difficulties or frustrations, but older children can use language to
convey their thoughts and concerns.

2. How do social media affect the values and norms of the people around me?

I believe that Individuals are more willing to accept information if they feel others have already accepted
it, therefore the information builds common knowledge of a norm and improves social coordination.

3. How do media influence my values?

I believe that Through the monitoring of education, diffusion of knowledge, and other means, the media
alters our ways of thinking and living. It also encourages the alteration of personality and the
construction of new beliefs. It has a favorable impact.

4. What are the positive effects of media to me?

I believe Use of social media is linked to social well-being, self-rated health, and mental health. We just
need to be conscious users and have a healthy perspective on the function of social media in our lives.

5. What are the challenges of media to me and how can I cope with this?

I belive that Hacking is a prevalent problem with social media, and it poses a security and privacy risk.

Privacy and security: One of the most difficult parts of utilizing social media is the question of privacy
and security.

We can cope it many ways just like create habits and routines for continual involvement. But, rather of
reacting, remember to be disciplined and proactive. Resist the lure of the black hole/time suck by not
allowing oneself to be interrupted by technology's constant demands.
