METHODOLOGY
Research Design
The researchers used survey or descriptive research to determine the reason why the grade 8
student’s dropout in school. By distributing surveys, they were able to get respondents’ answers
with regards to Grade 8 students who stopped schooling.
Source of Study
The participants of the study were 25 Grade 8 students of Cang-ungos National High School and
they were most likely the students who drop out of school. They answered the survey properly
based on what they learned and their experiences as well.
Instrumentation and Data Collection
The instrument used in gathering data from the respondents was survey questionnaires to
determine and to gather data from the respondents on why most of the grade 8 students of Cang-
ungos High School prefer to drop out.
Tools for Data Analysis
The researcher used descriptive analysis and basic statistics in analyzing the gathered data.

A. Results
Q.1 How far is the school from your home?

B. Discussion
According to the data gathered from the Grade 8 Cang-ungos students, 40% of the students say
that their home is very far. 12% of the students say it’s far. The 20% of the students say their
home is far enough. 12% of the students say it’s close to their home. 16% of the students say
their home is so close to school.
Q.2 What factors affect the Grade 8 students to drop out in school?

B. Discussion
Based on the results for question number 2, 12% of the students says they don’t have vehicles.
28% of the students says lacking of water affects them. 52%, almost of the students said that
having no money is the main factor that affects them. 8% of the respondent says that they don’t
have uniforms while none of the students responded on the others.
Q.3 What is the other reason that motivates you to dropout in school?

B. Discussion
Based on the results, 64%, almost of the students, responded that because of too many
assignments these what really motivates them to dropout. 16% of the students say that they have
no friends. 8% say that they lack of motivation on going to school while 12% of the students say
that they’re busy at home.
Q.4 How effective is the teacher at teaching the students in school?

Based on the results, 68% answer very effective while the remaining 32% say that the teacher is
not effective at teaching.
