Spelling rules

1. We add only “d” to the verbs that end in “e”.


Ex:

2,If there is one vowel before the last letter, we
double the last letter then add (ed).

e.g. tap --- tapped stop ---- stopped

3.When the verbs end in a “consonant +y”,
cancel (y) and add (ied)

Ex: try --------- tried

4.If there is a vowel before the ending (y) we don’t


cross the (y) but we just add (ed).

e.g. stay stayed

5.Irregular verbs don’t follow the rules.
