Form16 Digital Signature validation

Process Guide

INTERNAL
Stepwise Guide- DSC Validation

Step 1

 You need to click on view document once you land on the form 16 page.
 Select the Form 16 you would like to view
Click on View
Document
Step 2:

 Download the document and save it in a folder.

 Before you start to validate, ensure that you have opened the
document using Adobe reader.

Form16 Certification signature need to be validated by clicking on Digital Signature
below

Select Signature properties radio button.
Step 5
Select Show Signer’s Certificate Radio button.

Certificate Viewer will display and then select Trust Menu option

Select Add to Trusted Identities radio button & click ok

Click on Add to Trusted

click ok.

View the Certificate details and Select use this certificate as trusted check box and
check in all the check boxes and click on ok.

Signature Properties click Validate Signature radio button

Finally Digital Signature will get Validated

 The signature has been validated at this stage. You will see that the signatures in other pages
are also validated. If not, close the PDF and open again, you will see other signatures also
validated.
In case you encounter an invalid signature:

 This could be because of the PDF reader version used by you. You may try an alternate PDF
reader or follow the below steps

 Step1: It is suggested to use the chrome browser while accessing the form 16 link. On clicking
the link if you are routed to edge browser, please copy the link and paste it in chrome.

 Step 2: After you download the form 16, open with “acrobat reader”. Try not to use “adobe
acrobat reader”.
 Step3: Open the form 16 > right click on the signature and select “View signed version”

 Step4: You will be then able to see that all the signatures are validated. Please note: In few
instances you may have to repeat the step3 for each signature in the document.
