PEOPLE / PASSENGER
Try to get a verbal connection to the people
trapped in the car:
— Direct connection
— With intercom or telephone (If available)
Find out the situation in the car
Pacify the people trapped and assure them that
help is on the way
Forbid people from trying to open the doors and
exit the car by themselves
Continue communication during rescue
operation

SERVICE MODE”
After the rescue, stop the usage of the
elevator as its operation and safety must be
verified by a KONE elevator maintenance
technician first.
+ Switch the elevator to out of service
mode at the car operating panel inside
the elevator. Use the key provided by
KONE.
STEP 13: CLOSE THE ELEVATOR DOOR
+ Make sure that the elevator door is closed
and no one uses the elevator
+ Put an “Out of order” sign in front of the
