Write a short response about the YouTube video
We watched a video about the Cojuangco Aquino family knowing them they’re a family that was placed on a
pedestal ever since the Martial Law era. But it didn’t start there it started in the early 1900s. What we all know
about that family was wrong regarding to the video. We were blinded and were restricted from knowing the
truth we became ignorant in the truth and the facts because of the yellow propaganda. It all started in the
Philippine American War general Luna transported the wealth of the revolution to a certain place in Tarlac the
home of his girlfriend Ysidra Cojuangco. But after three days General Luna died. When it came to the time that
they were looking for the money it suddenly disappeared Ysidra became one of the richest women in the
Philippines. Their family became more powerful as time passes they didn’t just become powerful but they
became one of the richest families in the Philippines. As said in the video Ninoy didn’t really die for the
country but for his political ambition to become a president but to beat his rival Ferdinand Marcos. It also
came to a conclusion that one of the reasons that Ninoy wanted to beat Marcos was because of her love to
Imelda his wife. He wanted to prove that he was more powerful and better than Ferdinand. Going back the
reason that Noynoy is the president of the country today was because we were blinded the truth that they
were a family of cheaters and crooks since it all started to their ancestors. They treated unfairly those people
who were working for them and below them and they are still promoting today Oligarchy which is a form of
structure that was for the rich and powerful. I believe that the 1987 constitution was for the Oligarchs indeed
because it protected them only they didn’t make or do anything to lessen the biggest problem of the
Philippines, poverty. In regards to the Hacienda Luisita which is currently owned by the Cojuangcos. The
farmers weren’t given any of the supposed lands it resulted to them fighting for their rights but instead those
who were trying to speak up for their fellow farmers were killed. Oligarchy was promoted even before and it
continued running in the family. According the video Ninoy it was labeled as a hero because he said that he
died for the country for trying to end the Martial Law. Cory was labeled as a saint because she started the
People Power Revolution to also end the Martial law. She then became president letting her gain the title of a
saint for protecting the people but really she wanted to protect those of her same level the oligarchs. Kris was
labeled as Magdalene because she was put on the pedestal of being the queen of media and everyone liked
her. Because he took credit for the things he didn’t really do his family gained these titles but most of the
people in the Philippines don’t really understand why they’re titles are like that in this video I doubted the
power of our current president. I realized that Noynoy wasn’t really doing anything and he also became a
reason for my parents losing their jobs. Noynoy signed documents that were for the outsourcing of workers of
PAL he agreed and teamed with Lucio Tan, one of the richest persons in the Philippines.
