PCA-Ethical Communities Worksheet

Complete the following making sure to support your ideas and cite from the textbook and other
course materials per APA guidelines. After the peer review, you have a chance to update this and
format for your Electronic Portfolio due in Module 6.

1) Briefly restate your situation from Module 1 and your role.

The name of the organization that I have chosen is no other than the one of the
famous billionaire Elon Musk company Tesla. A well know company that has taken the
lead on ecofriendly environment and battery powered vehicles. Tesla design and well
thought out plan and well cars designs have made them one of the best-selling cars and
up 42% increase from last year of their third quarter. Thinking outside the box and
adapting to the changing faced pace industry is one of many reasons I think that Tesla
has done so well. One thing that many people are aware is that Mr. Musk has a very
high influence on the industry and do not show any signs of him slowing down.

My role here will be completely external and I plan to find out as much
information as I can about it and if they are just an auto maker or a company that collects
data. What has attributed to their leading success? Maybe the idea of an all-electric
Vehicles or is it the valuable data and information they have attained and maybe have
improved and maybe the AI behind all the cars infostructure is the key leading attribute
and I want to explore a little more and find out what is what makes old Elon Musk tick.
Tesla has been known for hiring the brightest and the best people to work for Tesla and
collecting all the data possible on anything they see as valuable.

2) Describe how the ethics of the organization influenced the situation.

Soul and Spirit are two thing that is a must in any organization and is what can
make or break an organization when times are tough. I saw a video of Mr. Musk when
Tesla was still not where it was today but in 2008 it was a sinking ship for sure and what
he said that between his other companies that he had and were also sinking he did not
know which one to devote the money he had left to invest in it, his words were they are
like having a child and how do you decide which child you let die and which one you let
live (keep investing). There is no doubt that he made it thru the period of crisis and made
it thru some difficult times, but it took soul and spirit for sure.

 I think that this is one of the main reasons that Mr. Musk for many is so not
understandable until later down the road things are explained, he takes things more
personal and dedicates his time I think that the people he works with trust him no matter
if sometimes he looks like he is doing something wrong. One thing that is unmatched is
Mr. Musk work ethics and leadership style is one of the most powerful and most personal
action oriented and is one of the reasons that he is always active and engaged to keep
their original vision going and evolving and this is one of the things that his spirit is just a
natural at doing.

3) Recommend how you would apply one of the ethical communities for an alternative
course of action regarding your case.

One of the ethical communities that I would apply would be caring and love while
I think that Mr. Musk does many things in my opinion this is one thing that I know he
lacks or needs polishing in because everyone always says that he is all about business, but
caring is what holds a family together right? The same goes for companies or
organizations. Not just for Tesla but we do understand that this is absent from most
corporations and should be incorporated or exercised more often than normal.

One way I would show that you care is by getting to know your employees and if
one can help them when they are going thru tough times or just being there to listen and
chat with them as if you were one of them not their CEO or boss I think that things of
sentimental value are worth more to people than money and they would surely appreciate
this and also will get recognized for sure.

4) Reflect on what you would do or not do differently give what you have learned
about ethics.

One of the things that I would not do differently is in the business aspect Tesla
has come a long way and I would not change anything because it seems that they are
doing everything correctly right now in my opinion. Tesla already demands commitment
and requires excellence and right now this is being done.
One of the things I would do differently would be to add some contribution from
leadership such as Love and Authorship one needs to trust more other people to solve the
problems at hand because one will not be able to do everything on themselves and if you
try you will never finish. Ethics is needed in every aspect and needs to be able to be given
and received so that a company can be even more fruitful and fulfilling.
