FRP CABLE LADDERS, TRAYS

AND SUPPORT SYSTEM

ISO 9001 2008

CERTIFIED

Being first is good, being smart is better, being both is Simply the Best!
The perfect partner for your projects!

Simply the Best:

This statement has followed us over the years as we developed into the unprecedented market leader in
multidiscipline support systems. This experience in smart cable supporting has since 1977 driven us to new levels
and many new and exciting products and projects. We have seen a major increase in our Research & Development
due to many different projects and special requirements from our clients.

A complete FRP system: We listen to what our customers say, and with this in mind and the demand for new
creative and unique products that last longer, reduce installation time and costly maintenance, we have
developed a range of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polyester) cable ladders, trays and support. A preslotted system
to fit e.g. the Trefoil Smart Cleat, the ETIN tubing clamps etc., as well as other time saving accessories.

Our unique FRP design: We have designed our FRP system based on the same concept that made us the
unprecedented market leader from supplying the Oil and Gas Industry on the North Sea shelf for 3 decades.
This environment represents one of the harshest test conditions possible and our cable management systems
have passed the test of time, and documented installations can be found in our reference lists and at major Oil
and Petrochemical companies around the world. This is why our FRP system is Simply the Best!

Our main factory and headquarters in Norway (left) and our Malaysia factory (right).

Below is our fabrication facility in Malaysia where the FRP systems are engineered and fabricated in large scale.

Total supplier: As a total supplier of cable management and multidiscipline support systems and of all types of
materials, with world wide references, our recommendations are trustworthy and focused.
You can be confident that when you re next in the market for a non metallic support system, the Oglaend
System FRP ladder, tray & support will be your best choice for value, ease of installation and technical quality.

Oglaend System have developed a resin formula for the range of ladder & tray
products called OLSTAR, that meets or exceeds the most stringent low flame,
smoke & toxicity standards in the market today.
Selected products are ABS & DNV approved for offshore and marine
applications. Other applications such as tunnels, mass transit, enclosed areas
or needs where low flame, smoke and toxicity levels are critical, will benefit
from our OLSTAR system and it carries the most up to date third party test
certification from recognized test centres worldwide.

OUR FRP PRODUCT LINE
A new generation in the market

When we designed this new cable management and multidiscipline support system we had one thing in mind:
To be Simply the Best, also in FRP products. With more than 30 years of experience as world leader in the sup-
ply of cable support systems we evaluated market trends, customer requirements, design and cost factors.
With all this in mind we have created a full range of products that are user friendly, cost efficient and offer a
unique high strength solution in the market today. Combined with creative user friendly fittings and smart
accessories you can see why Oglaend System is Simply the Best!

Gunnstein Austigard, the founder of Oglaend

System, is at the helm of the concept and
designs once more.
He is here seen to the left participating with

Pultrusion is a continuous process of roving, or mat/ roving bundles, which are drawn through a resin
impregnated bath to coat each fiber with a specially formulated resin mixture. The impregnated fibers are then
drawn through a heated die which forms the desired cross section. Curing of the thermosetting resin is initiated
by heat in the die and catalyst in the resin. The rate of reaction is controlled by heating of the die.
The resulting high unidirectional strength profile is cut to length and is ready to be used in the Oglaend System
FRP Cable Management and Multidiscipline Support system.

FROM CONCEPT TO INSTALLATION

Simply the Best:

Encouraged by the market response to our new line of FRP products which took one year from concept to
installation, Oglaend System secured the first of many big orders in 2006, one being British Gas Tapti.
From the start of engineering the client and EPC contractor could clearly see numerous benefits not just from a
cost point, but more importantly from an engineering/installation point as this project had limited space and the
requirement for flexibility was the key to a successful installation. BG Tapti used Oglaend System's FOE150 heavy
duty ladder and most of the unique Oglaend System accessories. Some of these items can be seen below.

Using smart solutions from Oglaend System can reduce cost and aid installation and together with our satisfied
customers, also you will find that our engineering/design team has managed to develope a well known technology
into Simply the Best!

SmartLok rung insert
With it s fire retardant, low smoke halogen free properties,
this clip with its glass reinforced sides fits neatly into the
rung by simply squeezing the end of the clip together and
pushed into the rung.

The clip is locked into place by the glass

reinforced taps on each side, and the
screw is then inserted through the channel
into the clip,
preventing any type of pull out.

Finally the trim edge on the ladder profile

will fix the rung in position and prevent
any rung rollover when pulling cables.

The recommended number of clamps is 8 per 3m ladder length.

This clamp is used for high wind application and where ladder is
positioned at an angle.
7 x 20mm Installation of the heavy duty clamp is quick and easy.
All that is required once the cover is in position is to remove the
nuts located on top of each side of the reinforcement ribs, then
hook the stainless steel clamp under the bottom flange of the ladder
and lift clamp upwards so the slotted hole on top of clamp lands
directly over the bolt and once in place apply the nut to secure.
