Task 2

The document discusses the pros and cons of freelancing as a career option. Some of the key pros mentioned are flexibility in setting your own schedule and work location, the ability to earn more money than as an employee by establishing expertise and taking on bigger projects, being your own boss and making all decisions, and gaining a wide range of skills. Cons mentioned include the potential for irregular income if work is not consistently secured, needing to handle administrative tasks like finances, potential loneliness working alone, and lack of employee benefits like paid time off. The pandemic both created challenges for freelancers like decreased work rates but also opportunities as more projects were outsourced, increasing some freelancers' earnings.

Task 2

D.

I feel very confident with my IT and technical skills but I do believe there is still room for development. I
do feel like I'm still not very good with my interpersonal skills as I have a lot of trouble focusing and
staying motivated I'm also very bad with time management, I'm also not very good at talking to others or
writing however I am good at working with them regardless.

Pros

FLEXIBILITY

You can set you own time of work, how long you work and where you work you can spend time with
family while being able to work but you still have to put in a solid amount of hour to make freelancing
work.

MONEY

You can demand more if you're a freelancer than being an empoyee, and by establishing yourself as an
expert you can make more money and the bigger the projects you take on the more money you can
make. You will also be less taxed than if you were employed

BE YOUR OWN BOSS

You make all the decisions including the hours you work and what projects you can work on

BUILD SKILLS

Being a freelancer greatly incereases your skills due to the wide range of things you can choose to do

NO COMMUTE

You can work from home or anywhere you'd like which eliminates any commincation needed with
someone from an office

RUN A BUSINESS
Being a freelances means you're basically running a buisness meeaning you get all of the rewards for
your hard work and effort

CHOOSE WHO YOU WORK WITH

You can work with anyone you want you can also decline if working with them isn't working out

Cons

IRREGULAR INCOME

You can go a long time without getting jobs from other people as people can hire other freelances if they
don't think you're good enough or you're prices are too high so you have to always engage with different
clients to get different jobs

ADMIN TASKS

You need to deal with business finaces, chasing invoices and many other things

LONELINESS

Since you're working by yourself it can be very lonenly and it can be very demotivating so you have to go
out there and build your own network

LACK OF EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

You won't get payed for having time off, so you'll need something like an emergency funds you also don't
employer benefits

The pandemic created a lot of problems for freelancers like their work rate, input and profit the
pandemic also created a lot of health problems for Freelancer. The pandemic also decreased the jobs
assigned to freelancer. Despite this freenacing has increased in the last year due to projects being shifted
to freelancers this increased their earnings by 22%. The Pademic also caused many workers to lose their
jobs letting them focus on freelancing improving the population of freelancers
