Introduction
In this paper, I'll talk about the value of teamwork in the classroom and
practical ways to implement it.
One of the main advantages of teamwork in the classroom is that it fosters
better communication. Students learn how to interact successfully with one
another when they work in teams. They acquire the skills of active listening,
straightforward communication, and constructive criticism. In the real world,
where successful communication is necessary for success, this form of
communication is critical. The development of leadership abilities is another
advantage of team building in educational settings. Students have the chance to
assume leadership roles when they collaborate in groups.
Participants in the team-building activity were sorted into multiple groups
by Dr. John Vencent P. Cazar, RCrim, at the Philippine College of Science and
Technology, which is located in Nalsian, Calasiao, Pangasinan, at six in the
morning. We must confirm that everyone has parental approval before the team-
building activity begins. Then we began the activity with a yell; each group had to
use a yell to introduce their squad. A litter of water, a box of noodles, a raw egg,
a can of sardines, and a box of sky flakes were also required of us
NARRATION OF FACTS
The first exercise, dubbed "circle of trust," had each team forming a circle and
collapsing onto one another's laps. This game taught us how important it is to
believe in oneself in order to build a stronger foundation and overcome
obstacles. The following exercise is the "Caterpillar Relay," often known as
"Unity." Your ability to work together and coordinate will be tested by this game.
Each team must hold hands to form a straight line, then cross from the back of
the line to the front without letting go of their grasp. Throughout this game, we
gained insight into the value of discipline. Your team's coordination may
deteriorate if each member is unable to follow the move-making leader. The next
exercise is called "Pass the message," and it requires the first participant in a line
to pass on a message by whispering it into the ear of the person in front of them.
The message is passed from person to person, and when it reaches the end of
the line, that person declares it to the group. To win this game, each participant
must listen and communicate effectively. This game represents the scalar chain
using Fayol's list of 14 management principles. Beginning with the highest and
finishing with the lowest power, in that sequence."Pinoy Henyo" was the next-to-
last activity we completed. The blue side in this game had the smallest amount of
time, which led to their victory. This assignment suggests that in order to
appreciate a team's unity of thought, it is important to comprehend individual
opinions. Our last task required teams to "Put Interns or People Holding Ropes
Back in Their Proper Position" in the "Human Puzzle" exercise. The winning team
was the one that finished the mission first. Our team found it challenging since
we had communication issues. However, despite the fact that our team lost the
most recent game, we are confident in our own performance.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, team building is an essential component of fostering a positive and
productive work environment. By bringing individuals together, team building
activities promote collaboration, trust, and effective communication within a
team. It allows team members to understand each other's strengths and
weaknesses, and encourages the development of problem-solving skills and
synergy. They create opportunities for team members to socialize, build
friendships, and develop a sense of camaraderie. This can contribute to higher
employee retention rates, as individuals are more likely to stay in a supportive
and cohesive work environment.
RECOMMENDATION
In accordance with this team building which our school executed. The team
building enhances our different set of skills like critical thinking, decision making, and lastly
our physical strength. I suggest that we experience it next year, not just us but to my fellow
students of Philippine College of Science and Technology (PHILCST). We had a great time
polishing or enhancing our skills with this kind of event.
APPENDICES
I. This part serves as the orientation in Team Building Activity.
Before the activity begins, each team should introduce their team using a yell.
In the middle of the event we did a activity called “Circle of Trust”, each team forming a
circle while resting on each other's laps.
On the second to the last part of our activity we perform the Human puzzle game which
taught us to work as a team in order to win.
