Q1.Difference between project management and operational
management
Construction management primarily involves planning, designing, and supervising
construction of buildings and infrastructure projects. This includes coordinating the work
of the architects, engineers, contractors and other professionals involved in the project and
ensuring that the project is completed on time and on budget. Construction management
also includes managing the site, ensuring safety and compliance with building codes and
regulations, and coordinating the delivery of materials and equipment.

On the other hand, operational management involves oversight of the day-to-day

operations of a company or organization. This includes managing people, processes and
resources to ensure that the organization operates efficiently and effectively. Operations
managers are responsible for setting goals and objectives, developing and implementing
strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring that the organization achieves its goals and
objectives.

In summary, construction management is focused on managing the construction process,

while operational management is focused on managing the ongoing operations of a
business or organization

Q2.Definition and tasks of construction project management

Construction project management is a specialized form of project management that

focuses on overseeing the planning, design, and construction of buildings and
infrastructure projects. Their main goal is to ensure that construction projects are
completed on time, within budget and in accordance with the required quality standards.

Construction project management involves a wide range of tasks and responsibilities,
including:

1. Planning: Create a project plan outlining the scope, timeline, budget and resources
required for the project.
2. Design: We work with architects, engineers and other professionals to develop
detailed designs that meet your project requirements.
3. Procurement: Procurement and purchase of materials, equipment and services
required for the project.
4. Construction: Manage the site, coordinate the work of contractors and
subcontractors, and ensure work is completed according to project plans and
designs.
5. Quality control: Monitor the quality of your work and make sure it meets the
required standards.
6. Safety: Ensure the site is safe for workers and visitors and that all safety procedures
are followed.
7. Budget and cost control: Manage project budgets and track expenses to keep
projects within budget.

such as customers, contractors and regulators and manage their expectations
throughout the project

Q5.efficiency and effectiveness of management of construction
management
Efficiency and effectiveness are two important concepts in the management of
construction projects. Efficiency refers to the ability to complete a task using as few
resources as possible, and effectiveness refers to the ability to complete a task in a manner
that achieves the desired outcome.
Effective construction management involves setting clear goals and objectives and
developing plans to achieve them. This includes identifying required resources such as
materials, labor, and equipment and allocating them to maximize utilization. Effective
management also includes monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments to keep
the project on track and on target. Efficient construction management involves minimizing
waste and optimizing the use of resources. This can be achieved through careful planning,
scheduling and coordination of tasks, and using technology and other tools to streamline
processes.
