SICAM 8 Application, Visualization & Operation, Manual 5

E50417-H8940-C651-A1, Edition 03.2023
1 Product Overview

Visualization and Operation

The application group Visualization and Operation consists of the following:

SICAM HMI

• Engineering/SICAM Device Manager:

– SICAM HMI
– SICAM HMI Events and Alarms

• Runtime/SICAM WEB:
– SICAM HMI
In the engineering view of the SICAM Device Manager, you can find 2 editors:
The application SICAM HMI is used to create single-line diagrams.
The application SICAM HMI Events and Alarms is used to create event and alarm lists. In addition, this
application offers the possibilty for the engineering of SICAM HMI specific signal properties.
In the runtime view of the SICAM Device Manager, you can find the application SICAM HMI. Here, your
created single-line diagrams can be uploaded to be monitored and controlled. Depending on your configura-
tions made with the editor SICAM HMI in the engineering view, the single-line diagrams in the runtime view
are combinded with alarm or event lists.
You can find the current product version and corresponding documentation in the Siemens Industry Online
Support portal (refer to https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/start?lc=en-US).

Licensing
The editor SICAM HMI in the SICAM Device Manager engineering view is licensed in the Automation License
Manager under the name Device Manager HMI Configuration. The Automation License Manager is a
separate software which installed in combination with the SICAM Device Manager.
The usage of up to 200 data points and 4000 list entries (combined over all lists) in the SICAM HMI runtime is
license-free. The usage of additional data points and list entries can be ordered via the SICAM Function Point
Manager. With the respective license, a maximum of 2000 data points and 30 000 list entries is available to
you.
For more information, refer to the Function Point Manager manual (refer to https://
support.industry.siemens.com/cs/products?mfn=ps&pnid=29470&lc=en-WW).

Performance
If you work with a SICAM CP-8050, the maximum allowed limit of devices is 100.

Assigning and Arranging Elements

² Open the tab SL Elements.
² Choose an element and move it per drag and drop onto the working area. Repeat this for every needed
element.
² Arrange the elements in the working area.
To connect 2 elements, select the end of one element and draw a line to the end of another element per
drag and drop.

Assigning Signals
A signal can only be used in the runtime when the signal is assigned to an element of a single-line diagram
(for example, switch operations or displaying measured values).
² Open the tab Signals.
All signals previously created in the SICAM Device Manager are displayed.
² Choose a signal from the list and assign it per drag and drop to an element. You can only assign signals of
the correct type to an element.

[sc_hmi_signals, 1, en_US]

² Assign signals to the elements as needed.

² To save your changes, select the icon .

3.1.2 Importing SVG Graphics

3.1.3 Creating SVG Graphics

You can create SVG graphics with a third-party software and import them into the editor SICAM HMI. For this
example, the freeware tool Inkscape is used. For more information, refer to the official Inkscape documenta-
tion.
For the import into the editor SICAM HMI, every element must have the following properties:

• cwui-state

• cwui-selection

• cwui-id

• cwui-text

• cwui-signaltypes

NOTE

i If you work with Inkscape:

• The scaling value of the file must be 1.00000.

• The font size must only be changed via the properties and not by resizing the element in the drawing
area.

• Siemens recommends using standard fonts (Web-safe fonts).

Visualizing Switching States (cwui-state)

Switching State On Inter Off Fault

Graphical representation

² Draw a switch with all possible switching states.

² Select the element representing the switching state On in the drawing area.
The element is displayed in the XML editor.
² Select + in the attribute window.
² Enter cwui-state as the attribute name.
² Enter On as the attribute value.
² Add the corresponding attributes for all other elements representing the switching states Inter, Off and
Faulty.
Pay attention to the adherence of the name (cwui-state) and the values (On, Inter, Off, Faulty) for the
attributes. Deviations lead to incorrect SVG graphics.
² To give an element a meaningful name, add an attribute with the name id and enter the desired name as
the attribute value, for example SW1_On.

Defining the Addressable Area (cwui-selection)

The area of the element defines where the switch can be addressed in the interface. In this example, this area
is defined with a dashed circle.

² Enter cwui-selection as the attribute name.
² Enter true as the attribute value.
² To give an element a meaningful name, add an attribute with the name id and enter the desired name as
the attribute value, for example SW1_Area.

Grouping Elements (cwui-id)

² Select all elements of the switch in the drawing area.
² Group the elements.
² Select the group.
The group is displayed in the XML editor.
² Select + in the attribute window.
² Enter cwui-id as the attribute name.
² Enter a name with a maximum of 13 characters, for example Switch 1, as the attribute value.

Displaying Values in Text Form (cwui-text)

In the editor SICAM HMI, measured values can be represented by a text to provide more information. In the
SICAM HMI runtime view, the text is replaced by the actual measured value.
² Add a text element that you want to assign to a measured value.
² Select the text element in the drawing area.
The text element is displayed in the XML editor.
² Select + in the attribute window.
² Enter cwui-text as the attribute name.

Displaying Quality Identifier in Text Form (cwui-text)

In the editor SICAM HMI, the quality identifier of measured values can be represented by a text to provide
more information. In the SICAM HMI runtime view, the text is replaced by the actual quality identifier.
² Add a text element that you want to assign to a quality identifier.
² Select the text element in the drawing area.
The text element is displayed in the XML editor.
² Select + in the attribute window.
² Enter cwui-text as the attribute name.
² Enter a name with a maximum of 13 characters, for example Voltage 1_dpq, as the attribute value. The
name is a combination of the name of the measured value and _dpq.

Defining Signal Types (cwui-signaltypes)

If an element does not have this property, no signals can be assigned.
² Select the element group in the drawing area.
The selected group is displayed in the XML editor.
² Select + in the attribute window.
² Enter cwui-signaltypes as the attribute name.
² Enter the signal type you want to assign to the group, for example MSG:2, CMD:2, as the attribute value.

3.2.1 Retention Policy of Lists

Depending on your license, a total of 4000 or 30 000 entries is saved in your event or alarm lists. These entries
are divided between all your created lists. After the maximum capacity is reached, the oldest entry among all
lists is automatically deleted.

Example for a maximum of 4000 entries

• List A consists of 3 entries.

• List B consists of 3997.

The maximum capacity is reached.

A new entry to either list A or B exceeds the 100 % limit and deletes entry number 0001. Entry number 0001 is
always the oldest entry and can either be in list A or B. For the deletion, it is not considered with which list the
maximum was exceeded.

3.2.2 Creating and Opening Alarm or Event Lists

Creating an Empty List

² Open the tab Objects.
² Select the icon .

² Enter a name for the list.

² Select the list type from the list box Type.
