WHO IS A MANAGER
A manager is a person responsible for work performance of group members
Has formal authority to commit organizational resources
Different types of managers
The PROBLEM SOLVING Manager
Focuses on providing solution to every problem of the company; concentrates
on achieving the company goals
PROBLEM: He will always be on the look out for problems that he forgets
about other things in the office
The PITCHFORK Manager
threatens employees to work towards a goal; employs fear tactics and uses
iron hand to push employees for results to avoid consequences. Characterize
as TOUGH AND RUDE
The PONTIFICATING Manager
Neither follows and strategy nor prepare for any situation or task and usually
ends up with inconsistent results
The PRESUMPTUOUS Manager
Focus more on themselves than anything else; not a team player and usually
works for personal gain or interest

be multi skilled and analytical

MIDDLE LEVEL MANAGERS
are layers between top- and first-level mnanagers. Assigned to supervise
specific units or departments; highlt specialized in managing the tasks and
operations of assigned units
FIRST LEVEL MANAGERS
They directly oversee employees or workers and are task with carrying out the
decisions communicated by the middle managers
