API Keys 4 Binance

Spot

A quick guide to explain

the steps needed to create
and set up API keys for
Binance Spot trading.

Creating a set of API keys

You should create a set of API keys just for
Alertatron, as this makes it simple to remove
access at a later date without affecting any
other services you use that also require API
keys.

!" Sign up to Binance

$" Log into your Binance account and
go to the account settings 4 API
Management page where you can
create a new API key. See below for
images of the sequence as this has
recently become very complex.
%" For the API restrictions, make sure
'Enable spot & margin trading' is
checked. Make sure 'Enable
Withdrawals' is disabled.
&" Once your keys are created, make a
note of the API Key and Secret
Key...

Adding the keys to Alertatron

!" From the Automated Trading menu,
choose Configure Api Keys. (see
image below).
$" Choose one of the support Binance
integrations from the exchange list
in the Add API Key form.
%" Give the keys a name. This name is
how you will refer to this set of API
keys when you send orders to
Alertatron. It should be letters only.
&" Enter the API Key into the Key field.
'" Enter the Secret Key into the
Secret field.
(" If you created the API keys from a
Binance TestNet account, check
the testnet option.
)" Save the changes.

Choose _Configure Api Keys_ from the Alertatron

menus.

Binance API Key Creation

Recently Binance has been making it
complicated to add API keys, as they do not
offer the application level key binding that
other exchanges do.

They do offer IP limiting for API keys, but

Alertatron uses too many IPs to be entered
into their form, and our IP list changes
slightly from time to time as we scale up our
infrastructure. For the time being it is
therefore necessary to remove the IP
restrictions on Binance keys. This is risky. If
you are concerned about the level of risk you
may find Bybit or OKX safer to use, as they
both offer more sophisticated way to protect
your keys that bind your keys to Alertatron in
a way that can not be used outside of the
platform.

Below are screenshots from some of the

steps you will need to complete to use
Binance API keys.

Choose the System Generated HMAC keys

Give your keys a name in Binance

Remove the restrictions

Agree to Binance's terms

Finally enable trading for the new keys

Sending a test
Now your bot is ready, it is a good idea to
send a test command to it, to make sure
everything is working as it should.

Set up an alert that includes the following

text in it (it can have other text in the
message though). Note that you'll need to
change YourAPIKeyName to the name you
used in step 3 of 'Adding the keys to
Alertatron'.

# Spot Trade example

YourAPIKeyName(BTCUSDT) {
limit(side=buy, amount=0.001,
offset=2%); }
#bot

When this alert is triggered, your bot will

place a limit order on the BTCUSDT market
to buy 0.001 btc, using the available USDT in
your balance. The order will be 2% below the
current price. You can simply cancel this
order after it is created.
