3.1 What is Internet Research?
Internet research is the practice of using Internet information, especially free information
on the World Wide Web, in research. It is: focused and purposeful, uses internet
information or internet-based resources, tends towards the immediate and tends to
access information without a purchase price. Internet research has had a profound impact
on the way ideas are formed and knowledge is created. Common applications of Internet
research include personal research on a particular subject, students doing research for
academic projects and papers, and journalists and other writers researching stories.
Research is a broad term. Here, it is used to mean "looking something up". It includes
any activity where a topic is identified, and an effort is made to actively gather
information for the purpose of furthering understanding.

You can get many harmful objects such as advertising.
Some advertisement are harmless lalo pag sa facebook, youtube ganon. But sympre pag sa
hindi safe na sites that would be the phishing work. Clinic mo di mo alam kinukuha na ang
information mo. So it is very dangerous
Weaknesses include unrecognized bias difficulties in verifying a

Yun nga not all information you see is true, kaya kaylangan you have to dig
deep kasi even in here ay may mga poser din. They represent themselves as
writer or scientist pero hindi naman. Kaya nga much better talaga kumuha

it is most important part, so dapat accurate yung information na
pinagkukuhanan natin. So we have 6 things in how to check our
souces.
1) Authority
The person has the power or right to control, judge, or prohibit the actions of
others, a position that commands such a power or right.
Is it clear who is responsible for the contents of the page?
Is there a way of verifying the legitimacy of the organization, group,
company or individual?
Is there any indication of the author's qualifications for writing on a
particular topic?
Is the information from sources known to be reliable?

2) Accuracy
The ability to do something in an exact way without making a mistake, Faithful
measurement or representation of the truth; correctness; precision.
Are the sources for factual information clearly listed so they can
be verified in another source?
Is the information free of grammatical, spelling, and other typographical
errors?
O accurate ba yung sinasabi niya meron ba siyang supporting evidence to proof that
his/her statement.
3) Objectivity
The state or quality of being objective, He fact of being based on fact and not
influenced by personal belief or feelings.
Does the content appear to contain any evidence of bias?
Is there a link to a page describing the goals or purpose of the
sponsoring organization or company?
If there is any advertising on the page, is it clearly differentiated from the
informational content?
Yung main objective niya, one sided lang ba siya o he try to exaplain more, bias ba siya.

4) Currency
The state of being commonly known or accepted, or of being used in
many places.
Are there dates on the page to indicate when the page was written, when
the page was first placed on the Web, or when the page was last revised?
Eto yung timelines niya, sa research kasi 5 years upto current lang ang tinatanggap why
because of the validity ng information. Afte 5 years kasi the validity of information ay
hindi na accurate kasi nga madami nang nagbago after 5 years diba.
