Continuous Charge Distribution and Linear Distribution

A continuous charge distribution is where charges are closely bound together with very little space between them, but they are still separate charges distributed continuously along a line or surface. Linear charge density is the quantity of charge per unit length when charges are distributed along a line, represented by the Greek letter lambda. The unit of linear charge density is coulombs per meter (C/m).

What is continuous charge

distribution?
In a continuous charge distribution, all the charges
are closely bound together i.e. having very less space
between them. But this closely bound system doesn't
mean that the electric charge is uninterrupted. It
clears that the distribution of separate charges is
continuous, having a minor space between them.
Explain linear charge density. Write it's unit.

Linear charge density: when the charge density is
along a line, then the quantity of charge per unit length
is called linear charge density and it is represented by
A.
A = ~ , whwre q is charge uniformly distributed on
length 1.
Unit of A= Cm- 1
Example: If q charge is uniformly distributed on a ring
of radius R, then the linear charge density of ring will
q
be 2-rrR
