Retrieving your documents
CGI and Blue Dart provide facilities where your passport is
held for pick-up. You will see a list of our passport/visa
collection locations when you schedule your interview and can
choose the most convenient location from that list.
To collect passport/visa from CGI/Blue Dart collection
locations you will have to carry following Supporting
Documents (as applicable) Please present your ORIGINAL
valid Indian government-issued photo ID to the security
personnel at the entrance and then proceed with the following
documents.

Important Note:
Indian Government-issued photo ID can be a passport
biographic information page, voter ID, PAN card, driving
license, or Aadhar card. An employment ID card issued
in connection with a Indian government job is not
acceptable. Senior citizen card is not acceptable as photo
ID.
An ORIGINAL letter of authority must contain the
following information (Scanned or Email copies not
accepted):
o Representative's full name as on their Indian
government-issued photo ID. Note: For family/Group
passport collection, individual copy of
Representative Government ID Proof to be attached
against each passport to be collected (eg. For 5
passports there should 5 copies of representative
Government ID Proof).
o Applicant’s name and Passport number
o Should be signed in original by all applicants
o Select here for format of the authorization letter .
If Husband is collecting passport/document on behalf of
wife or vice-versa please bring relevant documents as
listed in the table above. Authority letter signed by
spouse applicant in original is mandatory.
Children below 18 years of age will not be allowed to
collect any/self-passport. An original letter of authority,
(Scanned or Email copies not accepted), signed by any
one parent is mandatory if representative is collecting
passport or any one parent in person can collect a child
passport with above required supporting documents.
Please bring a copy of your Appointment letter along with
above supporting documents for speedy collection of
passport at the counter.

Please note that passports not collected within 14 working
days from 11 Visa Application Centers or within 7 working
days from 22 Blue Dart locations will be RETURNED to the
respective U.S. Embassy/Consulate and applicants will need
to pick up their passports/documents directly from U.S.
Embassy/Consulate. Follow the link for the Embassy/Consulate

To collect Returned passport/visa from Embassy/Consulates
you will have to carry following Supporting
Documents: Applicants are required to carry an ORIGINAL
Indian government approved ID to collect the passport. If a
representative wishes to pick up the passport on behalf of
applicant, he/she should carry an ORIGINAL signed authority
letter from the applicant with an ORIGINAL self-Indian
government approved ID proof to collect the passport.
Note: Above Days of the Week for collecting passport do not
include admin days when the U.S. Embassy/Consulate is
