INTRODUCTION

Jose Rizal is on eof the most influencial people in our Philippine history his retraction is also the most
controversial issues in our Philippine history, the retraction is all about the reversion of rizal and other
issues linked to it, the said retraction is claimed to be forgery however some handwriting experts stated
that the letter was genuine, hence begins the debate on whether rizal retracted or not…

To my fellow classmates to maam ebona together with my partner mr. ralph llanda, Iam jammer dumato
and today we will be discussing one of the controversial testimony about the retraction of rizal…the
Balaguer testimony.

And we will proceed on the objectives

In 1917, an affidavit executed that proves he was who solomenized the marriage of jose rizal and his
bride Josephine brackens

His first missionary assignment was in surgao andwas transferred to dapitan in 1896. A year later , he
assigned to davao, after the defeat of the Spanish armada in 1898, after a year he returned to spain and
died

WHAT IS RIZALS RETRACTION ALL ABOUT?

His reversion to the catholic faith and all other issues linked to it such as his marriage to Josephine
brackens, repudiation of any of his writing against roman Catholicism and abomination of masonry
