Script Commentaries

WRITING AO4 (/27 marks) & AO5 (/18 marks). Maximum marks 45.

Q6: The candidates are required to write the text for a leaflet aimed at school students
offering advice on how to deal with bullying.

Script Commentaries Mark

S1 This is a rather brief response but within it there is a AO4 L3 – 13
clear sense of purpose and clear communication. The marks
use of a heading indicates a suitable form; tone and
register are also appropriate but brevity keeps this at AO5 L3 – 9
the lower end of Level 3 for AO4. Whilst ideas are not marks
developed, they are connected. There is use of a varied
vocabulary and some range of punctuation.

S2 The candidate communicates successfully in this lively AO4 L4 – 21

and engaging response that demonstrates a secure marks
realisation of purpose and understanding of the needs
of the intended reader. The heading and effective use of AO5 L4 – 15
bullet points help to convey ideas successfully. The marks
vocabulary has been carefully selected and there is a
good degree of technical accuracy.
